I won't swing my (real) bowling ball in the house, either. That's why a lightweight, soft "practice ball" would be a great thing. It would only need to be heavy enough to put your arm into a downswing.

I'd just rather have my own personal pair of lanes at home to practice with grin .

As for swinging a ball in the house I will, but I try to make sure nothing in the swing plane is breakable. I was doing it the other day to check something and the ball yanked some and fell off at the bottom on the way back and rolled into the tv stand oops .

Now that you mention it... I've been pondering the idea of building an approach and maybe 15 feet of lane surface to practice on in my basement LOL. Just something that I can practice on and not have to worry about score or that much accuracy. Only work on the fundamentals of my overall approach.

Such a thing exists, it's called a "stub lane."

Here's an example:

I wonder how much it costs for one of those? I would really just like the most basic thing I can get lol... There is no problem with me or the kid having to play "ball return".

I'd still rather have the real thing, ball return, pin setter, sweep, oil machine, the works. Of course I would need to live in a house that is over 40 feet long, even more than twice that to allow for machinery and to be able to get around the return. It would be great for all types of things. What can I say I think big sometimes.

The solution is easy: run for President! There's a pair in the White House basement.

I think it would be easier and cheaper just go get my own, plus I have to wait about 7 1/2 years before I could run. Of course I would never get elected because I would be so truthful that I would lose a lot of votes.

Heh, well you need at least 100 feet for a bowling lane. Also the $150k or so to get everything ordered/installed. Sadly I've only got 54' in my basement lol. So I'd have to do the stub lane.

The White House, I believe, is down to one lane now. Plus Obama said if he wins he'll turn it into a basketball court...

Ample, I have the space in the basement, 113'. So, if you have the bucks, I will let you install one there. You could use it anytime.

PS: We'll need a lane machine too. So, put that in your budget. Used is OK. I'll get the oil.
