Its a pretty funny movie, I've seen a lot worse. It wouldn't occur to me to call it a "great film" though.

It's a funny movie. Obviously no one is going to bowl with a fake hand, though. I've watched it several times and have laughed every time at something in there....

I would call it the greatest bowling movie of all time, and a pretty good comedy on top of that. More bowling movies need to be made smile

I wouldn't say that it's the greatest bowling movie. I enjoyed it. But I prefer The Big Lebowski. Check that one out.

Funny you guys mention King Pin, the guy that plays Stanley is my boss's brother....There is a movie that came out a long time ago, I think it was called "Dreamer", it stars Tim Matheson as the main character...Story of a bowler who wants to become a professional.

Kingpin is not to be taken all that seriously. Although there are some "professional" moments in it, they are definitely moments. The movie's a great comedy!

Seeing Mark Roth, Randy Pedersen, Justin Rhomek and Parker Bohn III at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno was a pretty neat part of the film.

And, without a doubt, the traumatic final match between Roy Munson and "Big Ern" HAD to have been inspired, at least in part, to Randy Pedersen's real-life devastating loss to Ernie Schlegel in the 1995 Bayer/Brunswick Touring Players Championship.
