Arson Pearl, Midnight Vibe, Rhythm- Best Length - 12/22/12 12:56 PM

Been disappointed with slingshot and qz2 both drilled for length on lane transitions. With my marginal ball speed 14.5 when they hit the dry get to much early arc hitting heavy. Adjusting line gets me right side but entry angle weak.

Working on Polishing with the qz2 getting better. Preferred line is 12 down to 7.

Any of those balls listed better of getting through the heads and down into the dry with more angularity?

My coach gave me his old Midnight Vibe, we polished it up, but at least for me it still doesn't have very good length. It always hooks early and ends up hitting high. It should be good on a tournament pattern some day though.

That helps cgrimes, good to hear from a KC guy, grew up in Roeland Pk, and flew there this summer to buy a vintage Mustang in Overland Pk and drove it home over 900 miles.

Not exactly an answer because your looking for a Hammer, but the longest ball I've ever seen is the Storm Fringe. I also have lower ball speed(14- 14.5) and play about the same line as you, and my Fringe goes very long and really makes a strong move on the back end. The Track 300A also goes pretty long, but without as strong a move on the back. Also, tried an Ebonite Innovate at a demo day and it will also go long and make a good move on the back end. Unfortunately, I haven't tried any of the balls you mentioned so I can't give you an informed opinion on them.

Thanks for the info jmaul99. Never owned a Hammer, only suggestions from house friends. Looked at the Fringe specs and it certainly appears what you say, its on my list for sure. Thanks again.

Being from Duluth it must take you over an hour to get to the lanes.

youre saying youre experiencing an early arc, to counter this try moving left but throwing the ball more into the dry earlier and it should be a little better reaction for you, buying a stronger ball than a slingshot for dryer lanes is just going to make it roll earlier and more arcy which is what you dont want, i would suggest talking to your pro shop manager and see what he/she thinks

That's exactly what I did and the only ball he wanted me in was the QZ2 Backdraft. He oversaw the drilling. We bowl in several leagues together so has known my game for years. I think the hybrid coverstock pics up to quickly so why more polishing I try is working better.

When I move left, probably a mental problem, I just can not get the ball back to the pocket on a nice continuation/line in the 3rd game. This with Gamebreakers, Vital Sign, Cyclone, great first two games with excellent turn in then they all begin to snap.
