UBA Tourny - 04/03/09 01:24 PM

I will be bowling the late shift of the UBA (Ultimate Bowlers Association) tournament tonight at 9 p.m. Last year I missed the cut by 11 pins so hopefully this time I make the cut and throw some good games out there. Got to make a run for that $10,000 first prize. Wish me luck haha...

Oh by the way the oil pattern is a modified Viper and is 37 feet in length.

I missed the cut by about 40 pins but I still felt I bowled ok. The pattern was a modified Viper where they decided to go with double the volume of oil throughout the shot. It made spare shooting a premium and made the strikes hard to come by. I shot 217-178-244 for a 639. Not to shabby for a newbie when it comes to sport shots.

Nice rolling, right now I'd love to shoot that on an easy house shot that is akin to the Cheetah.

Sounds like you did great. I'm surprised you didn't make the cut. You must have some pretty spectacular bowlers in your area.

Good going!

Good bowling Shorty, I'm also surprised that 639 didn't make the cut. Is everybody bowling pba sport patterns down there, or was it playing easier than the regular viper?

I always thought the viper would play much easier if it just had more oil, I guess I was right if 639 didn't make it wow!

The Tourny is Handicapped based on tournament play. I get 4 pins a game, while the max is 55 pins for Men, 60 for Women. There is a scratch side but the payouts are so low for scratch that its not worth it to bowl. You can finish inside the top 15 on the scratch side and break even, finishing first is the only big payout, everything else is marginal. The handicapped side is where its at.
