Tennessee highschool state championships - 01/31/10 12:32 AM

I finished second in the highschool individual state championships! The first round has 72 bowlers and is on house shot. The first game I shot the front nine and then left a ringing ten pin and ended up with a 278 that game. I ended up with a 4 game set of 854 and made the cut to 24 bowlers. I was in 17th going into The second round which is a sport shot. We then bowled 4 more games. I had the highest set with a 215, 191, 204, 214. I set the record for the highest average ever for the second round. It was then cut to the top six which was the next day. All pins carry over into the next day. I was #2 going in. You bowl five games one against each bowler and each win counts as 30 bonus pins. After that they re seed and the numer one and two go against each other and so on. I was still 2 seed going into that game and had to win by 30 due to being down by sixty pins. I shot a 190 but my opponent shot a 191. But I will gladly take second in the state.

Congrats dude. Makes me wish my High school had a bowling team. I had to do everything by myself with no help. (up until recently)

I'm not going to give my age away, but at my last HS reunion, our championship bowling trophy is still in the School Trophy case, with my name on it. It was a good feeling to see that.

Enjoy Justin. It lasts forever.
