How is this ball compared to say a Storm Vivid or Brunswick C-System Ulti-Max?
Well Charlie, it all depends on what you personally want out of the ball? The lower the RG means the quicker the ball will transition from skid to hook. Though you also want to factor in how you have the drilling setup.
All balls at 15#
Elite Red Alien RG 2.504
Storm Vivid RG 2.52
Brunswick C-System Ulti-Max RG 2.585
You will also want to figure the Differential... Which, depending on drilling pattern chosen, will vary the flare potential. The lower the Differential the more even the hook, I believe. Anyone feel free to correct me here lol.
Elite Red Alien Diff .043
Storm Vivid Diff .050
Brunswick C-System Ulti-Max Diff .050
Basically all of the bowling balls you mention have great hook potential when the oil is there. If the oil is not there to allow them to skid and build energy, they will just burnout and appear almost as a "dead" ball. There are also other factors in there that are part of the final factor in what type of reaction the ball will have. Though with the Vivid and the C-System Ulti-Max you're looking at what I call "long and strong" transition. Versus a more even hook with the Red Alien. Though my Red Alien does make quite a strong movement when the oil is there and the breakpoint area is clean.
