Need some help with my release

Need some help with my release - 09/01/14 12:37 AM

It's extremely frustrating because I was told my release is wrong and I need to work on the follow through.. however my air seems to always want to cross in front of me..

I did notice when I took off my bowling glove I felt a little more in control.

My release sucks, and the fact that I had a loud group a lane over from me was not helping.. after 4 games I called it quits when my sole of my bowling shoes went out. I rented a pair but I decided to stop and not to bowl another game

As soon as I snip the videos out and upload them I will be posting them.

I'm sure a couple of the coaches will respond but I think this video may be of some use to you.

I know it's hard not to do but DON'T try hook the ball too much.

SubaruWRX, ask someone who works at the bowling center about who give bowling lessons . I know this (online)is the cheapest way but it also take the longest to improve.

Just a tip - the harder you roll the ball the most likely your wrist will be in a week position.

Out of all those shots I think one of them I was really trying to hook, I know it's not looked highly but I might try some two finger bowling, I was told it's like I try and rush the ball.

with the cylone I only got one strike and my score was only 87.

spr3 is telling you to get an in-person coach because you need to get some fundamentals in line.

To me, it looks like you're really holding on to the ball, which causes all sorts of issues, including a "roundhouse" style of delivery - it should be a nice straight swing. This allows you to aim MUCH better - with a roundhouse, you have to let go at EXACTLY the right moment or it's completely off. With a straight pendulum swing, it will always be (mostly) on the right target line. . .

At this point, I would REALLY suggest getting your fundamentals down before trying a 2-finger, no-thumb method. You might get some hook, but you will still lack consistency.

Think of it as getting a new, bigger engine, while having your wheels of 4 different sizes, the differential messed up, and your transmission running with sawdust in it. A small motor will work JUST FINE if everything else works. . .

And, I really don't mean that in a harsh way!!! Really! Look at my face - that's NOT the face of a harsh guy! LOL

I'm just trying to guide you to start in the right direction. . .
