Great List.

I have an old video called Practice Makes Perfect that starts Wayne Webb and Lisa Wagner. It's a little dated, but I still think this is one of the best introductory instructional bowling videos I've ever seen. Covers all the major topics, even down to the system of how to count and move boards to convert spares.

Like I said, its a bit dated, from the early 80's I think, but I still highly recommed it if it can be found. It will benefit new bowlers the most.

If i can suggest:

Right Down your Alley

We used this in my bowling class, has alot of pictures and from what I can tell a good read for anyone starting out. It also has about 5 pages of "trouble shooting" if you will. With detailed descriptions of problems and how to correct them.

Re: Recommended Books and Magazines - 08/28/08 12:15 PM

Is bowling this month a good magazine and is there a good amount of reading material available in each issue? That one looks to be the most interesting from the ones that were listed. Any other recommendations on mags?

Just my dry sense of humor coming through there. Yes, I do subscribe and it is well worth it. The ball reviews are always spot-on, and there are several good articles every month.

i have focused for bowling by dean Hinitz. i haven't finished it, (only in chapter 5), but there is a huge amount of good information in the book. Recommeded to anyone who needs to work out some kinks in the mental game.

I'm starting that chapter myself K.M. Ryan. So far it's ok, but nothing ground breaking to me.

This is a great book. Finished it a few weeks ago. I found many things I was doing wrong that this book helped me correct.

Does BTM deliver electronic file (PDF) instead of hardcopy ?

Subscribed a month ago, will not receive first issue until a month from now. Looking forward to it, anxiously,.....

Not sure if they do it "instead", but you can download a PDF copy if you subscribe. I do both.

Re: Recommended Books and Magazines - 09/05/10 06:27 AM

I did subscribe to BTM some days ago.
I wanted to view the online version but it requires a coupon or code or smth which I don't have. This should come together with the magazine I suspect.

Re: Recommended Books and Magazines - 09/08/10 10:14 PM

I emailed somebody there and got that to work for me, the electronic version. I believe on version, however, is just a preview of what's coming next month.

They answered to me also with the code to access the current digital version.
