I'm back in the 5 man league I jumped in halfway through last season. New team, guys from work who've never bowled league before, should be interesting. They went from a 90% of 210 to a 90% of team avg handicap system this year. Which will help us out alot.

Everyone else seems to score well on this house(thirty-four 300 games last year). My avg last season went down...hope it turns around this year.

I'll be bowling in the same three leagues I bowled in the past few years. On Wed. and Thurs. night, competetive 5 man teams, and a mixed league with the wife every other Saturday. A few of my teamates on Thurs. night have been talking, and we feel we need to make a lineup change,..swapping positions with the #2 and #4 bowlers. Our #4 bowler is our weakest bowler, but he is also the sponser of the team, buys the shirts advertising his company etc. and he made out the lineup, he is the Captain. We feel we could do better if he bowled #2, he has a 170ish average, and our current #2 bowler should move to the 4th spot..he averages 200+. We need to find a suttle way to suggest this move without ruffling any feathers.

There are PBA Experience leagues on Monday night at Fort Meade Bowling Center and Thursday night at Brunswick Zone Normandy in Ellicott City. Both are well-established leagues, are sanctioned, pull tapes, etc. You may even see a pro or two there. I will be bowling Normandy on Thursday night.

Say Joe, isn't there an old Stage Coach stop that is a pretty good restaurant in Ellicott City? I seem to recall it back a few years ago when I lived in Columbia.

Sorry, this is off topic.

On restriction for two leagues this fall, one I'm stuck running at Alexandria, and one up in the air, but it's looking like a return to an extra-man on a Trios at US Hole. Be happy to run out on my usual team for a sport shot if there's one to be had. Have very little interest in just doing house shots until next summer.

Domo, I don't usually bowl PBA in the fall. Just strictly house leagues. I really only do it in the summer to keep me sharp, so when I get on a house pattern, it's incredibly easy. Basically that's a long-winded way of saying I haven't been looking. LOL

When you talk about Alexandria you mean the AMF lanes right? Not Shirley? What nights are you bowling?

Sorry, I don't know, the bowling center is a bit of a hike from my home. But, I will keep an eye and ear out for it, and PM you if I come across it.

Twenty bucks. Since the summer league started they have been putting out the current PBA Experience shot on Sunday morning, and I think only charge two bucks a game to the league bowlers.

Before the summer league started, they brought in Carolyn Dorin-Ballard to kick things off. They set up all the patterns on different pairs. After a brief seminar, they turned everybody loose on the patterns, and CDB did her best to give pointers on form, release, lining up, ball selection, etc.

Yep, the Desert Lanes at AMF Alexandria. Had the discussion with the team last week, and they--we all agreed that 3-man with fourth kicker at US Hole on Monday nights was our best option. Alternative was a 4-man AMF Alexandria on Monday on a very hateful league. Also bowling Saturday morning at AMF Alex for the singles (blind doubles as they want to call it now) league I'm conned into running.

If you'd heard of any sport shot leagues, I'd bail on my Monday team. Even though I'm stinkin' on the PBAx patterns (and I've only had 3 animals to try), it's the challenge I want. I mean, the challenge at US Hole is spare-making--no complaint there, but well, you know what I mean.

You mean people actually bowl league at AMF Alexandria? I won an ABT tournament there rolling a White Dot. After their first time bowling there, most people never came back.
