Even I, a Cub fan, has to congratulate Buehrle on pitching a Perfect Game for the Sox.
I share your excitement, GP.

Some things of interest, this was his second No Hit game. Both were timed in exactly 2 hrs and 3 mins. The Home plate Umpire was the same one for both games. The winning hit was a Grand Slam in both games. Buehrle's number is 56, the same as the Home Plate Umpire's number, 56. The Box score read 5 runs, 6 hits, another 56?

Strange...

And, both times he faced 27 batters. First no-no, he walked Sosa (then with the Rangers) on a questionable pitch in the 5th inning. 2 pitches later, he picked him off. He is the only person in MLB history with (2) 27 out no-hitters. One of 24 players with multiple no-hitters. One of 18 players with a perfect game. One of 3 players with multiple no-hitters, a perfect game, and a World Series title. I love stats.

Oh, and my football number in HS was 56 smile

GP, I saw this on ESPN last night and was going to send you a congratulatory email this morning. You beat me.

Heck of a play to open the 9th. Now let's see if he can take on Nolan Ryan's record.

Congrats, from a Tigers fan. I'd rather the Sox had been a few more games behind them though.

He is a heck of a pitcher and from what I have read a very nice guy. He is only 30 and has 133 wins. They asked his pitching coach the other day if they thought he would get to 300. He asked how many wins he had. When they told him, he said heck no. He will be hunting way before then. He grew up in Missouri and owns 1100 acres there. During the off season, he is out there hunting. He also drives one of the largest street legal trucks out there. Here is a pic.
