I don't mean to be blur and I know I ask a lot of questions but.. erm.. I've always wondered what pro keglers mean when they say practice "Staying behind the ball" What is "stay behind the ball"? And also, what do they mean by leverage?

I'm not a "Pro Kegler", but I'll give you my thoughts.

In the forward swing, keeping your hand to the rear of the ball until the moment that revolutions are imparted by moving the hand slightly to the side will insure that the ball momentum in the swing will keep the ball in the palm of your hand without the need to squeeze. Thus, "staying behind the ball."

(I should get an award for the longest run-on sentence for that explanation.)

Leverage would be your ability to impart revolutions by keeping your fingers in a position near the time of release so that when the thumb is clear, the ball starts to fall out of the palm and rotations are imparted in a 'natural' manner.

(Not to be confused with the leverage drilling of a bowling ball.)

Hope this helps...
