I posted last week about my wrist hurting like [censored] after bowling a series of 3 games and alot of ppl told me it was common.

Well I bowled 3 games today and about half way through the 2nd game it began to hurt. I asked the guy in the Pro Shop and he told me that there should be no reason my wrist hurts he told me it should be something im doing wrong.

Can someone help me.

This..

But if we're just throwing darts at a dart board, my guess is that you're more than likely squeezing the life out of the ball and using way to much muscle to swing the ball.

Only a video will tell us what's really going on though.

I have had wrist pain as well which is in part due to how I bowl (and in part from work). I have asked a couple of coaches as well as seen a doctor about it, and the best we have come up with is I'm putting too much stress on my wrist due to my bowling form (and again, a few of the things I do at work). I like many other people grew up forcing the ball, and still have a couple of hitches in my swing that I'm working on fixing. Basically in my front swing (coming down from my backswing peak) I was pulling the ball forward, while trying to keep my wrist in a firm / slightly cupped position. This puts a lot of force on the wrist and for those with a weaker wrist will cause it to break back and you end up on top of the ball. My wrist is moderately strong so I can fight the urge to break back, but it also can't handle this stress time after time after time when I bowl. So my bowling suffers and I suffer.

But that's just me, as others have said without a video (or an MRI) it's hard to say exactly what is going on with you. I skipped the MRI for now, at $1000 it's out of my budget, but a few lessons with a good coach and a lot of practice on technique I can afford.

yeah i am trying to break the "squeeze" habit myself .... the first ball i had drilled my thumb olly went into the first knuckle.....so it took and is still taking me time to remedy....i stopped squeezing and dropped the ball many many times in my backswing....my main change to stop squeezing was clear slug drilled for a snug thumb hole with a piece of white tacky tape on the front and a hada patch on the back of my thumb...

Yeah he told me that obviously there was something im doing wrong. Maybe its because im trieng too hard to spin the ball alot. But this only happend around the middle of the 2nd game, maybe once my arm laggs i do something wrong. Idk though.

I'm sure this is going to sound like science fiction, but I'm telling you the truth.

If you're throwing the ball correctly, you should have have to try to hook the ball at all. It just will. If you're using your muscles to consciously try and hook the ball, that's the reason you're hurting yourself. Post a video or invest in some lessons.

i agree with lefty.....cause i could not focus yesterday, and was "trying" to hook the ball, and it was not doing anything.....on the 3rd game i relaxed and let the ball fall off my hand with a snap of my wrist and it started reacting very nice....so that is def the prob for me
