I didn't bowl particularly well, when in Vegas for Nationals. And, I think I even posted that I didn't see anyone bowling well in my Squads. I guess I was right.
I just opened a letter I got from USBC, and inside was a check for $120. Seems I won some bracket money while I was there. I was so distraught, I didn't even check the winner listing.
Ha! There is hope. You not only bowl against all 150,000 other bowlers, but against others in your squad too.
Now, if the Orbitz guy in his hovercraft would suddenly swoop down in my front yard, and hand me a rebate check for someone booking the same Hotel for less, this trip would almost pay for itself. Brackets plus Casino winnings, I am almost there.

As CoachJim always said, if others are striking, you had better strike. So, if others are bowling poorly, you had better bowl less poorly.

I didn't bowl well either. I still won some bracket money. I have gone and bowled well and gotten killed in brackets. I have bowled bad and won money. All depends on the draw.

Yep that's what friends are for

GP you still have me beat, I have never won money in brackets no matter how well I bowled, I always get matched up against someone who does one pin better.
In the past my teammates have won money and didn't bowl near as well as I did, I shot 650 something in one round and didn't win but one bracket, my teammate didn't even break 500 and won the same number of brackets I did. It is truly luck of the draw, and I have no luck, I just wish I could have bowled this year.

I spent a summer in Alaska. Friends got picked up by a guy who'd lived there his whole life. Tells my friend to look in the glove box for his "bear protection." Turns out to be a .22 pistol. "Not going to do much to a bear," my friend says, to which the guy replies, "yeah but it's not for the bear, it's to shoot my companion in the foot."
