Hey there fellow bowlers,
Just wanted to get some critique on my non-accurate bowling. I go "Brooklyn" often and have trouble hitting my mark consistently.
The things I see in the video are... 1. My hand is not staying behind the ball. 2. Inconsistent and off balance at the line. 3. Not keeping my elbow in enough. 4. GEEZ.....I am super bowlegged.

You are trying to hook the ball too much, you can tell by the way the ball comes off your hand going up instead of landing softly. Trying to hook the ball doesn't make the ball hook, it mostly gets in the way of the ball hooking, so concentrate on letting the ball roll clean off your thumb behind your foot, and off your fingers in front of your foot.

Thanks for the info Coach Jim. I certainly need to stop coming around the ball like that and let the ball do it's job. The Slowinski article will hopefully "balance" things out too.
Thanks J w73. When I "frame by frame" that shot I am still coming around it early, but there isn't any loft, so she gets hookin' earlier.
Practice today will include keeping my hand up the back of the ball through release and balance work. I have also changed out my slide sole for just a touch less slide.

neon, after working the release, I believe your balance issue might come from fast feet. I think slowing your feet down might allow your body time to shift and balance out a little better at the line. Just a thought.

So I practiced today and I have to say I am pleased. The advice is great here. I slowed down(Thanx sk8), and kept my hand behind the ball through release with my balance arm a bit forward(Thanks coach). It was a bit rough the first few games, but after that, I didn't have to force my hand to stay behind. The change in soles and slower approach really kept me steady and gave me more power in my release.
My game is still obviously NOT perfect, but thanx peeps for the constructive criticism. If any one has any more suggestions, I'll gladly try anything to improve.

After you get a little more comfortable in your new bowling form go ahead and throw a new video up here so we can see the changes and add a few more into your game. Everything is a foundation for something else, so what you are working on now will allow you to improve in other areas later.
