Good News Bad News for my Thursday Summer League last week. Bad news, I bowled horrible (147, 177, 141). Good news, we were restablishing our averages rather than using our established average for the first 3 weeks. Too many missed one pin spares in the first game, got it together for awhile in the second game but then some terrible things in the last game (huges splits, pulling the ball). Have to get refocused for this coming week.

Start 'em over Scott. Just because you finished second in the sweepers and won all kinds of money doesn't mean you can take a break now!
I bowled decent last night. It was our second week on the USBC Nationals Pattern and I was consistant, left myself mostly makable spares (no splits) and I ended up with two opens on the night. I was clean the first game, washout miss in the second game and chopped a bucket the last game. I shot 194-206-206 for a 606. Not to shabby for my first sport league, sitting at a 206.2 average after two weeks.

Well I can tell it is Summer leagues again. The lanes have some oil through practice, even half way or so through the 1st game then it's line and/or ball change time. I started with my Cell pearl and shot 242 with a split in the 9th. By the 2nd game splits started showing up. I had 3 or 4 splits, cant remember but the rest were all strikes inlcuding 3 in the 10th as I went to old reliable the Paradigm (we won that game by 8 pins). I had the front 7 and pulled the ball a few boards left for an 8 count. I covered it and stuck out for a 278 and 725 series. Not one 10 pin left on the night, the average is at 226. I'd like to finish some where around there for the season.
As a team we swept all 7 points going to 14-0. The GF bowled a 157 her highest game ever. She is carrying a 118 average so far for her first league, first finger tip ball and minimal practice. When she gets out of it clean she throws a nice ball and it hits good for a 10lb ball (Playmaker). It was the lightest ball with a core that we could break her in on. It was just a good night all around. For a change I enjoyed myself I need to remember to do that more often.

Not bowling as much as usual this Summer, and it shows. I developed some bad things being off. I guess I just forgot what I was supposed to do. So, I went to the PBA league to watch, and the was an opening, so I bowled.
220-160-180 for 560 on the Viper. My problems were there all night. Opening up and coming around. I used 3 different balls and was either high or crossed over all night. Had 4 Brooklyns in the first game. Gotta bowl more.

210 213 244 for a 667, keeping the anchor spot for another week. The first 2 could have been 240s as well if not for a couple bad carries, a couple bad shots, and a couple missed spares.

I fell off the mid-600 wagon ride I've been on for many weeks now with a 512 series (168-180-163) this past Tuesday. Combination of the new summer lane conditions (as I mentioned in the "Summer Leagues and Frugal Lane Conditions" thread) and operator error on my part - pulling the ball, etc. Just one of those painful nights I couldn't wait for to end like going to the dentist.
Hope I do better tonight in the Parent Child league with my son.

I had my worst night in some time, and I kind of sensed it in my warm-up session before the lanes were turned on for league, the second game of which I failed to have a strike. Most of the night's problems came in the first game, where I seemed to have one lane going, but couldn't get out of my own way on the other lane, getting only 1 spare and 4 opens. I did seem to get progressively better as my head cleared (I didn't get much sleep the night before), and I had my only run of strikes near the end of the last game, getting a turkey. Also on the bright side, I did make all of my single pins, and improving on my single-pin spares was something I wanted to work on this summer.
Team once again split, but we did it the "hard way" this time, losing 2 by a total of about 70 before we won the last game by enough to take total. My team's captain, Bonnie, was a big part of the last game win, getting the last 5 at a point where we needed her to get the team over the threshold for total.

Nice, CG! Sorry, VFF, and sorry Dennis. Really sorry, Richie.
Monstrous monsoon last night just in time for PBAx. Humid, humid, humid. Mutilated our shark pattern with little dry pockets all spread out, mostly just inside the 10. Crazy to watch two VGs Flip over midway with the way they're colored. Those that have 'em know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, 180-211-178-189. Feh, marginally better than the week prior. I blame the rain on the pattern. Nope, don't talk me out of it. I've made my mind up and counted to ten.
