Hey all,

I'm a Mississippi transplant now living in the Portland, Oregon area. Just getting back into bowling, haven't played much since college and always threw a straight ball. Wife is into the game as well which is cool.

Any other Portlanders around? Can anybody recommend a good coach? I technically live in Vancouver, WA so anything north of the river would be a plus.

I'm from Vancouver, sort of. My wife and I are moving back there in the coming months. I never bowled in Vancouver, but there's info on the internet if you google "bowling center vancouver, wa".

Dave Husted's place is Hazel Dell Lanes. That's the first place I'd go, but there are lots of others too. Dave has 14 PBA titles and was ranked #23 on the PBA's 2008 list of "50 Greatest Players of the Last 50 Years."

Yeah, Bailey's is the nuts, Crosley isn't too bad. Husted's Hazel Dell lanes...I dunno, the lanes we were on kept dropping pins, sometimes the balls didn't return and then, when they did, they had some kind of gunk on them. We're not going back there.

Dennis at the Pro Shop in Bailey's is the guy to go to for ball questions. Pretty much if I could always bowl at Bailey's, I would. Haven't tried the AMF place, will have to give them a shot sometime.
