The admonition against practice when one is tired is mainly directed at the time when one starts making bad shots, making silly mistakes, having obvious breaks in form, etc. As long as you are doing things properly then there is no problem. I agree that long sessions can help develop stamina and improve muscular strength as it relates to bowling. But, continuing on doggedly when one is doing badly will only exacerbate the problems. Too often a bowler will try to keep on when it should obvious it's time to stop. Better to have 3 or 4 excellent games instaed of 8 or 10 [censored] ones just to prove you can keep going.

I'm replying to the original post in a direction I have not seen another take.. somebody who works out their legs regularly and is in good shape should NOT get leg pain when bowling in my strong opinion.
You may be used to it, but likely you are sticking on the approach and too much of your forward momentum energy is being absorbed by your joints on your slide leg.
Look into a better pair of shoes that will let you slide more freely through your shot.
If that does not help, see a doctor about it, you may have a medical condition in the joints that can be rectified.
Thnx, I was actually just thinking my shoes could be contributing to the pain. They are the Dextershoes with the i guess felt bottom not really sure. But I dont really like them because their not very comfortible, feel stiff. First pair of shoes i ever bought, im used to house shoes which are broken in and flexible of course with the old school bottoms. Any recomendations on a good pair of shoes that are flexible with the old school bottoms not sure what the material is i guess smoothed leather maybe but easy to slide in.
Yeah Ive had them a good 6 plus months and bowled in a league for 48 games. Im going to clean them up a bit maybe smash em up a little with a 10 weight, ill see if that helps make them more flexible.
Not many bowling shoes these days have real leather soles. Linds might be your only hope. But talk about stiff. New Linds take months if not years to break in. But they'll last nearly forever.
Dexters are usually very comfortable when you put them on from the 1st to the last time.
