Hi all, I'm going to order a pair of finger inserts online, so I'd like to know how I can measure my size at home to save a long trip to the Pro Shop. Basically, what point do I measure at, and are there any other specifications that I should be aware of. Thanks.

Well the easiest way, is to actually remove the inserts, but you have to be careful doing that if you want to use them afterwards. The size will be marked on the outside.
Trying to measure them yourself is a little tricky. If the the actual hole was drilled a bit too tight, like if the drill bit has been sharpened a few times then the insert might be compacted a little and measure smaller than it really is. Then there is measuring with something that has all the different fractional break downs, like sixteenths, thirty-seconds and sixty-fourths.

Well, unfortunately, if I did remove them, I doubt I would be able to put them back in.
So do I just measure the diameter of the hole in the insert?
On second thought, may I will just go to the Pro Shop. Kinda hard to find a time when it's open, though, since it's the offseason (no summer leagues here), which is why I wanted to do it myself in the first place.

You would measure in inside diameter but if you are careful, and depending on how much glue is holding them in, you can reuse them. I used to do it all the time, but I also bought an insert removal tool. I would change them out when I needed a bigger insert during the summer and then use the original one for the winter. I have seen others use flat head screw drivers and still not do much damage to the inserts.
If the pro-shop originally drilled the ball they should have your information on file and you could possibly call them and ask them what sizes are in your ball.

I don't think they have my specs on file. I'll ask about it, though. Thanks.

Depending on the brand some inserts are marked on the inside as well. Get a flashlight to shine in the insert so you can get a better view inside, the numbers are beveled / slightly raised and can sometimes be hard to see. It will probably just be a single number like 25, which would mean 25/32.
