Had a solid night....195 246 244....Yes a bit consistent but I'll take a 685 any night. The first game I was trying to force a more direct line with my centaur but in the fill frame of the tenth I threw a strong line with my bite and I stuck with it my second and third game.

My summer tinkering continues. I am working on a few things and my starting position is one of them. I have had trouble staying in time, and usually end up charging the line, and then pulling the ball to catch up to my quick feet.

My remedy for this is to start with my slide foot(left foot) about foot more forward than my right foot. This seems to help keep me in time. I dragged out a ball I have not used in quite a while and bowled with it last night, tossing a 639 for three games..not great, but much better, more comfortable. With my new adjustments I just felt smoother,..more fluid all night. Now my next project...working on my corner pin spares...lol.

Practiced for 4 games and tried to fix a couple things in my game. I know what I'm doing wrong, but I can't fix it on my own. I need to get lessons...

I haven't been around the last couple weeks, but I started my summer league with a new team and good results. First game out of the chute, 8/, big four, 8 in a row, spare, 250. 181, 195 to finish the night. Last week 191, 194, 224. Happy with my bowling so far and so nice to be in a league where I don't deal with team drama.

And I went bowling over the weekend on saturday night with my brother, his wife, my sister and her boyfriend and I expected scorched lanes, but to my surprise I found perfectly flooded pristine lanes. Took me a game to figure out what I needed, and shot 217 and 181 to finish the night. Needless to say the family was impressed.

Jordan and my league results
Jordan 185-213-197 (Still haven't gotten his new #13 ball)
Me 194-188-253 missed the pocket in the 8th left 1-2-7 spared
Left the same second ball of 10th spared.

Coach was there, thought boy I bet I impressed him as he came walking over. Instead he asked when I was going to get my head out of my butt and take the day off to get Jordan to the Pro Shop. Lol oh he did mumble last game wasn't bad.

While at the Pro Shop getting my thumb holes checked, the desk man asked if I was going to bowl. I sort of thought for a second, and he said, "oh go on, I'll turn on the last lanes and you could just roll". "No Charge". Couldn't pass up the offer, and since I already had my balls out. What the heck!?!

I tried the cupping and push that I practiced on Sunday to see if I could remember how. Used my VG and just rolled out to see the oil, which was just laid down. Got a good read, and a strike. But, it wasn't the release I wanted. Switched lanes with my DP, and got deeper into my slide, hand behind the ball, fingers low and pushed at the release. Ball was sweet, Strike. Tried with the VG, and wow did it turn across the head for a Brook. Back to the DP and it felt good, strike.

Bottom line, 12 consecutive strikes with the DP on lane 19, and 8 of 12 on lane 20 with the VG. There is a new found back snap with the VG that I rarely had before. I will have to adjust my line and give it more room by moving more inside. The DP just power rolled into the pocket on every ball. The Pro Shop guy watched and marveled on the hits by the DP.

The release felt good, as long as I stayed down at the slide and consciously kept my hand behind the ball, cupped, and pushed.

Both of these balls have a radical color patterns, and I like the fact that I can actually see the revs very clearly. There are definitely more revs releasing this way.

Sounds like you had a very nice unexpected practice!

Last night in league (THS) I had a 184-181-279 = 644. The first two games I was having problems carrying/stringing strikes. It was those type of games where I felt like I was working way too hard for the score. I made an adjustment in the 10th of the second game which kept me striking through the third game. I would have had a 300, but I left a stone 8 in the 7th. It was one of those shots that was buried in the pocket and explosive, but somehow the eight pin was not touched - couldn't believe my eyes. Overall a decent series, but I rather be more consistant throughout the set.
