Most people don't have six sessions in a lifetime this good, let alone in six consecutive sessions:

PENNSYLVANIA PREP BOWLER ON ASTOUNDING ROLL
Governor Mifflin's Tetterton posts honor scores in six straight
matches

GREENDALE, Wis. - The last month has been an incredible ride for Shane
Tetterton of Kenhorst, Pa. One he hopes doesn't end anytime soon.

Tetterton, 17, a junior at Governor Mifflin High School in Shillington,
Pa., has posted honor scores in six consecutive high school bowling
matches - believed to be the first such occurrence in United States prep
bowling history.

"I still can't believe it is happening," said the right-handed
Tetterton. "I hope I don't wake up one day only to find it has all been
a dream."

Tetterton's unprecedented run has been a nightmare for Governor
Mifflin's opponents in the Berks County Interscholastic Bowling League.
It began on Dec. 22 when he capped off an 834 series with a 300 game,
which was preceded by a 268 and 266. In his next match on Jan. 5, he
shot another perfect game and finished with an 805 series - becoming the
first youth to post consecutive sanctioned 800 series in the United
States.

He remained hot in his next four league matches - posting a 300 on Jan.
6, 299s on Jan. 12 and Jan. 13 and another 300 on Jan. 17. Tetterton,
who now has five career 300 games and four 800 series, credits a calm
approach for his continued success.

"I try not to think about what is happening and just take one shot at a
time," said Tetterton, whose father, Bill, is the bowling coach at Penn
State University-Berks-Lehigh and a United States Bowling Congress
Coaching Bronze certified coach. "Being in the zone is something that I
can't turn on and off - it just happens. The routine prior to stepping
on the approach has been a key. I am trying to hit my mark and let the
physical part just happen."

Tetterton will look to continue his streak Tuesday, Jan. 25, when
Governor Mifflin, which has won the last two league championships, meets
Central Catholic High School at Bowl-O-Rama in Exeter, Pa.

Tetterton aspires to bowl for a college team and one day become a
member of Team USA or Junior Team USA. He finished 113th and qualified
for the semifinals in his first appearance at the USA Junior Gold
Bowling National Championships in Dallas last July. But it's at the
high school level where Tetterton has had the most enjoyment.

"(Bowling for my high school team is) the most fun I have ever had on
the lanes," Tetterton said. "We have all been friends for a few years
and bowl tournaments together. Our league is very competitive and the
members of the other teams are very sportsmanlike. I really appreciate
the opportunity to take part in such an atmosphere."

Tetterton averages 238.7 per game - tops in Pennsylvania high school
bowling this season. He also carries a 226.5 average in a junior league
at Berks Lanes in Shillington, Pa., and a 201.1 average in a Sport
Bowling league at Bowl-O-Rama.

"Bowling in Sport Bowling leagues and tournaments has been a great
challenge and it is wonderful preparation for the USA Junior Gold
Bowling National Championships," said Tetterton, who has several local
championships and a Pennsylvania YABA doubles title to his credit. "I
recommend that every serious competitive bowler join a Sport league."

United States Bowling Congress Sport Bowling is an optional level of
membership consisting of leagues and tournaments conducted on
challenging lane conditions. The program is an opportunity for all
bowlers to determine their true skills in such areas as accuracy,
consistency, spare shooting and the ability to read lanes. Sport Bowling
is committed to the integrity of the game and the advancement of the
serious bowler. For more information, visit SportBowling.com.

So did anybody get a chance to see him???

Is he really as good as this makes him sound, or was he just having some good weeks?

Good weeks?

If that implies 'lucky' weeks, I don't think so. We have 'lucky' deliveries (i.e. Broklyn strikes) and maybe a 'lucky' game, but 'weeks'?

This kid is SKILLED.

Well did anybody see him????

Coach do you know this kid???

In the Aurora Bowling Association, we have one kid, Brian Lusher, that holds the Illinois State record for 800/300's, and he is not that skilled, I want to know if this kid is a skilled bowler, or just a high-rev player that throws hard into the pocket like this Lusher kid.

Unfortunately, I have never seen him bowl. I hope that I do get the chance.

I have a 12 year old client that amazes me. I'm working with him on stuff I usually reserve for high-end adults. Maybe these two will end up in a head-to-head match in the Northeast U.S. competition arena.
