The place Ive been bowling at lately always has low lighting, it was fairly visible when I first made it but got darker when i uploaded it.

Editing out the video now so it doesnt get stuck up here, adding a better lit one a few posts down.

Note: The main problems I think I currently have are 1) slipping back into a muscled swing 2) losing the progress I made on keeping my left foot straighter in the slide and 3) twisting my body sideways still, which i think is a product of 1 and 2. I went from practicing a lot to mostly only having time for leagues and regressed a lot to make shots more comfortable / easy.

If you're using windows movie maker, there's a "brighter" effect. Drag a few of them on each clip.

at :20 seconds when you shoot at the 10 pin, notice your body composition. You stay compact, your arm swing stays in close to the body and you have minimal turn. I think it comes with you trying so hard to hook the ball normally that you are spinning yourself around.

A few shots from today, a little better lighting, the lanes were a mess with carrydown, etc, I was playing across the center bumping out against 10, sometimes 15.

Try bowling with your left arm out, thumb down. This will balance you and keep your core square to the pins. This will also provide more energy to your ball as you are not "spinning" away from the energy you're creating! Additionally, you should see your ball speed increase slightly which will allow you to play more inside which in turn will allow you to carry the 10 more...do you leave a lot?

I leave a lot of 10's when I play around the 5-10 board starting position (right foot), I leave a lot of 7s and 8's when i play down the center more.

By arm out thumb down do you mean the arm forward the whole time, or the thumb up in front, down in back?

You do twist a bit. And you do it at different times so this is a pretty big inconsistency. You should probably get that out of your game or at least settled to something consistent.

You also step off. You get into a balance position but hold it until the ball goes off the pin deck. You will probably have to slow down your feet to do this.

But one thing I noticed is that you don't take the same amount of time in your preshot routine to focus on what you are going to do. Settle down, focus a bit longer and then don't rush the shot.

You have a very lovely bowling center. I love the masking units and the log cabin feel. Very nice.

The second video I saw more rushing, less focus. And you went high the majority of the time, so you need to move to adjust for that. Probably 2 and 1 left. and you also mention that you shot the 10 and then sometimes the 15. You really shouldn't have that much area, or depend on that much area. That cosmic shot is pretty dry, not a lot of hold area inside.

Thanks Erin. I should take more time for some reason I always feel rushed, have to get rid of that. Im not sure why I twist, I just know when I try to stay perfectly straight it feels so unnatural, I think it might have to do with how much i bend over.

I usually started out with my foot on the 15 aiming at the 10, when I am facing more oil for my lower rev rate I put foot on 10 and aim at 5-7. Im new to identify board and naming, etc, and Im not good at noting where my ball goes down, as i think i drift left a lot when i start on 10.

I also have issues where I keep trying to work on my release and I think I vary enough revs/speeds to make me inconsistent.

How does the swing look as far as muscling? My Pro Shop guy watched me and told me the one thing he saw earlier was that i would have a lot of speed going in my swing and then slow it down once it got close to my ankle, like i was trying to control it too much, and that dropped my revs off, I could notice a big difference when I kept my momentum constant, or even accelerated a bit at the end, way more revs.

thanks for the help! The center I am at is verrry nice, it is called castle lanes, not sure if im allowed to place links, but it is easy to guess the site name :p

Exactly what I noticed. That was your best swing.
