CG:

I do. And, I should use the site. I never think about bringing a sheet of paper with me to mark everything. When I keep stuff like that in my bag, the sheets end up getting messed up.

Last night I went to the lanes where the sport shot league is being run in my area. The shot for last night was unfortunately the Cheetah. I still wanted to get some games in so I bowled anyway. First game, I focused only on getting warmed up and hitting different marks. Then I bowled 3 games for a 580 something. I was having problems with my corner pins so I bowled a game of only corner pins. Some people looked at me odd but oh well. Then I bowled a game focusing again on hitting my spots and rolling the ball. I shot 238 (I think) with 2 opens.

A few things about last night.
- I had 3 pocket 7-10s and 3 8-10s. I probably had 1 each during the year.
- My spare game is goofy right now. I don't have a lot of confidence in my spare ball. Because of the fingers being plug material, it feels different than my Cell or Hy-Road. It is effecting my game. Mental or physical, it is not right.
- During my 5 game last night, I felt something pop on the top of my hand and the pain went into my wrist. I did the same thing on Sunday building a retaining wall in front of my house. That pain was gone by Monday, I still feel it today. After that happened last night, I put on my wrist brace (just goes around my wrist, doesn't go up on the hand at all). I was able to bowl with little to no pain.

When I get back, I am going to call my doc and see if he things I should get an MRI. Every so often, I tweak it but the pain goes away with a few days of rest. I haven't done it in probably 2 years. Time to get it looked at.

Tim, I bowled PBA practice last night and struggled in the first 2 games. I also, strapped my wrist brace on and finished the final 4 games well over 200. It just helps train your wrist from turning.

I will bowl in Nationals in a couple of weeks, and I think I will wear it from the start. Why struggle in that event?

Exactly Dennis, if you are bowling in Nationals ( good luck by the way) why sour your effort if you are struggling needlessly by not wearing the brace. If you bowl better with it, use it.

Thats something I am dealing with, I am a little disappointed that it is not working out, this was my second attempt at trying to get rid of it. My coach told me to wear one a few years back, guess she knows better than me.

Tim, I have bowled without a wrist brace for quite a while. But, I will not hesitate to strap it on in a second, if I detect my wrist slacken or turning in the backswing. It just puts things back in the right order.

I can still cup the ball, but it stops the backward and side movement of my wrist.

Guess this comes from years of practicing with a wrist problem. It is hard to retrain.

You say it was the Nationals pattern. This will be my 7th year going and for most people, that ball wouldn't move enough to do anything on that pattern unless you have Belmo revs. What kind of lanes do they have?

Synthetics, AMF House. The lanes are oiled every day so are in relatively good condition. The league I am in is not sanctioned because they had a lot of Juniors that wanted to bowl with their parents but they did not want to lose eligibility for Juniors. They also run a sanctioned PBAX League so I know they have done the taping on the patterns. I have about 385 or so rev rate, about 45 degrees axis rotation and 25-30 degrees of tilt. Ball speed at the break point is 14.7 or so.

I was told during the night that Nationals plays straighter than what we had because their lane surface is newer but I have never been so I have no idea.

Bowled my first night of No-Tap League last night on the THS. Went 286-265-266 for a 817 and established an average of 272. Not to bad for the first night. Had the front 10 in the first game, 4-9. Front 8 second game, 4-6, off the sheet. Last game front 8, pocket 7-10, sheet. Not a bad effort, thats for sure.

I would love to try the Nationals one day, But I feel I'm really not quite good enough yet. Someday (maybe next year) I'll make the trip out there.
