Excited as hell about my Dexter SST 8. Only $125 from bowlingball.com. I remember almost buying a pair of sst for 200 at Pro Shop.

Weird how you can get excited about shoes! The white ones are coming out at the end of June. I was going to wait, but saw some on another bowler and thought the black/grey looked great.

You will love the 8s. I got mine for Valentines Day. I will warn you though that the default heel is REALLY sticky. I went to the red heel.

What is the default heel on the SST8..
Is it the H5 tridex with the white, red and green ?

If so .. I agree. I could not use it .. tried to wear it in but it never got better. the red heel was too slick for me.

It was the H5 tridex. Looks cool. Doesn't work well. I have been told that it takes a dozen games or so to get broken in.

For me the H5 slide to much....I use the H2 Heel and the s4 sole. I don't like sliding much if at all.

I just got 7s and tried to get a feel for the shoes on my local wood approaches. The H5 tridex was weird there, don't know if it was a problem with being too sticky or just a bad sole/heel combination for me there but when I went to slide it was skipping. Like it tried to stop the slide then I slid a little more and stopped again. I wasn't bowling, just figured I'd try to get used to it.

Then I went to a house with synthetic approaches to practice and it was fine, at least to me. The red H7 I tried on the wood and it had me sliding a lot, pretty much no brake so the only reason I stop is I have no more forward momentum. That's probably bad too. So on the wood maybe I need to change soles, if the practice I did on the synthetics didn't break in the tridex to where it won't skip there.

Good bowling shoes are the best investment for your game. You need a good pair of shoes that will slide consistently and give you stability.

So cool that you are able to change the soles/heels to suit you and the lanes. Just from the few post on this thread it is obvious that it helps.
