Dennis:
Equipment isn't mentioned in any of the articles. I read them all of the time too. The only place I see equipment mentioned is at bowl.com on their Nationals board. Looks like the VG and Cell are the balls. One guy said on their rack was 7 VGs and 2 Cells. You can view some vids on the front page on bowl.com of the Nationals site. 2 of the 5 vids have guys throwing the VG.

I bowled 4/1 and 4/2. The bowling was terrible. Not just for me. I did a write up for a poker newsgroup I am on, and therefore it is more gambling orientated. It is actually more of a vacation trip report. I am pretty verbose...it is a long read, but has photos, too. http://6-ball-says.blogspot.com/

6-ball: Very cool stuff. There is no way I would be able to keep track of all of my gambling though. Don't think I would want to. No evidence for later Here is going to be how my trip is going to go. Drink, gamble, drink, gamble, drink, bowl, drink, gamble, drink, bowl, drink, gamble, go home. Oh, and go to a bachelor party and wedding while I am there.

Woo, go Lennie and Linds! http://www.bowl.com/temparticles/LennieBoresch.htmlLAS VEGAS - In 1989, Lennie Boresch Jr. of Kenosha, Wis., had a breakout year at the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships, and he has been a dominant competitor on the tournament lanes ever since. On Monday night, the 46-year-old right-hander proved he's only gotten better with age as he posted the highest all-events score of his 28-year tournament career and took the Regular All-Events lead with a 2,223 total. He had 752 in doubles, 743 in team and 728 in singles. Don Burdick of DeKalb, Ill., previously held the lead with 2,168. Boresch also helped Linds Limited of Milwaukee into the top spot in Team All-Events with a 10,372 total, the third-highest score since the category was introduced in 1947. Turbo 2-N-1 Grips 1 of Madison, Wis., previously held the lead with 10,317. Dale Traber, who returned to the USBC Open Championships after a three-year hiatus due to his exempt status on the Lumber Liquidators Professional Bowlers Association Tour, added 2,080 for Linds Limited and was joined by Gary Daroszewski (2,080), Ryan Lever (1,995) and Gus Yannaras (1,994).

6-ball: Very cool stuff. There is no way I would be able to keep track of all of my gambling though. Don't think I would want to. No evidence for later Thanks...Usually I take extensive notes to generate my spreadsheet at home. I keep track of losses in case I am lucky enough to hit anything that needs to be reported, to have write-offs. This was all done from memory and there are gaps and, I am sure, errors. Not many though. The $ number is very close to accurate. All the buy ins and cash outs are valid. I did not keep accurate track of the slot/video poker falderall. Here is going to be how my trip is going to go.
Drink, gamble, drink, gamble, drink, bowl, drink, gamble, drink, bowl, drink, gamble, go home. Oh, and go to a bachelor party and wedding while I am there. Oddly perhaps, I do not drink extensively when I gamble - or bowl for that matter. I wasn't always like this. I like to {try} to keep my head about me when I am risking my hard earned dough. Also, I am old now. Afterwards, at the bar, now, that is entirely different story.

http://www.bowl.com/articleView.aspx?i=15473&f=168-year-old Curtis Cage of Santa Clara, CA rolled the 12th 300 game of the tournament in his last game of doubles on Wednesday, then nearly shot another one in his first game of singles. If he had done it, he would've been only the fourth bowler in the history of the USBC Open Championships to bowl 2 300s in the same tournament, and only the second to do it back-to-back.

http://www.bowl.com/articleView.aspx?i=15510&f=1Unable to find a partner for doubles after various partners backed out, 36-year-old Lynn Corey of Addison, IL took to the wood by himself and shot the 13th 300 game of the tournament in his last game of doubles on Thursday night. Not USBC Open news, but I thought I'd update some goings-on @ the Women's Championships...Clara Guerrero teamed up with Jenifer Larson last night to take the Classic Doubles lead, and Michelle Feldman shot the highest individual series in the history of the tournament (816) to take the lead in Classic Singles.

http://www.bowl.com/articleView.aspx?i=15516&f=149 year old Ron Vokes of Racine, WI rewrote the record books yesterday, as he had a tournament record 30 consecutive strikes en route to posting a 290-300-267=857 series in Regular Singles, one shy of tying the event record. Adding in his 767 in team and 697 in doubles, he now holds the Regular All-Events record pinfall of 2,321.
