ive seen online tournaments but never looked into them the ones i saw was for money, i was wondering if anyone new how to set one up for just fun of course and with handicap we have bowlers of all levels. Just curious if anyone was interested

I've bowled a tourney on virtualtournaments.com, you register for free and you pay an entry fee plus brackets. there are usually handicap and scratch divisions during the winter, but during the summer I think it's just handicap. You just have to enter your league info and fax a copy of your standing sheet.

I have also bowled in that online tournament. Its actually how I paid for my spare ball and my fury. To win decent money in it, you need to bowl at least 100pins over your average.

I ended up stop getting into the tournaments because, I looked at how much I put into it and how much I got back and I was on the losing end by like $200.

see i was just throwing the idea out there for some friendly competition something to do for fun and the winner could have a crown avatar or something showing he was the winner or something stupid but fun. im trying to save money for my new ball not have to put my old ones on ebay!lol

The Virtual Tournaments thing seems interesting, but difficult because you have to beat a lot of people throughout the country, possibly thousands.

I was reading the rules and the only thing I'm confused about is the "baseline for your previous season's average" thing in handicap. I'm missing the point of them using a previous average when they use your current average for the week to determine your handicap.
