Getting caught up b/c I hadn't been doing my Google News search all weekend... http://www.bowl.com/articleView.aspx?i=15442&f=1Turbo 2-N-1 Grips 1 out of Madison, WI took the lead in Regular Team on Friday night... http://www.bowl.com/articleView.aspx?i=15444&f=1...then took the Team All-Events lead with the fifth-highest score (10,317) since Team All-Events records were first kept in 1947, on Saturday. Team members Mike Shady and and Marc McDowell were a big part of this, as they also took the lead in Regular Doubles (1,474). Shady is now 2nd in Regular All-Events with a 2,133 score.

That's a very accomplished group as several if not all of them have an Eagle to their name as well as some regional experiences and titles.

On the bowl.com message boards for Nationals, Riggs is a regular. He has been talking about how they were going to attack the lanes. He posted where they bowled, what equipment he used, and how the lanes broke down. Very good info. I hope that this doesn't get blocked. http://77square.com/sweat/blog/frame11/

http://www.bowl.com/articleView.aspx?i=15450&f=149-year-old Don Burdick of DeKalb, IL wanted to give his spot at the nationals to someone new, but got his spot back, and made the most of it Sunday night by taking the Regular All-Events lead with a 703 in team, 706 in doubles, and 759 in singles for 2,168. He is the first bowler in the tournament with 3 series of 700 or better.

Hi All Bowled Wed 4/1 at 830pm Team.I'm in my second full year bowling averaging 160.This was my first nationals since 1992,but I have bowled nationals 6 times in late 70's & 80's when I lived in chicago
I was nervous but after rolling first ball really got into it we bowled on lane 22 team. I'm a straighter bowler, started out playing 12 to 15 with a Hammer Hot Sauce pearl Rolled 167-169-180 had 6 splits and 2 blows for a 516
Next day bowled graveyard s/d at 1130pm lanes 57-58 doubles,59-60 singles. Started out with Hammer Hot sauce pearl again in doubles from 15-19,rolled 176-163-182 for a 521. Singles bowled same ball 163,then my worst game 135 3 splits 2 blows and recovered with a 183 for a 481. All events 1518 which I was somewhat ok with, although I had too many splits and not enough strikes
I did better than a number of higher average bowlers in my league, so that makes me feel better
Will practice and get better for Reno next year also have state tournament May 2 & 3 with my friday league team. Since my team is bowling nationals in july and I'm on a canadian fishing trip I had to bowl with a good group of guys from StAlbans Vermont the lanes are playable and you better bowlers should be able to score better than I did

Say Richie, I really appreciate you bringing updates on scores from Nationals. It is a nice feature that I look forward to.
In your readings, do they ever say what balls are being used? Or, which balls are doing the highest scoring?
Thanks again.

Hi Dennis...I don't think the articles ever mention equipment, but I'll keep an eye on them. http://www.bowl.com/articleView.aspx?i=15453&f=150-year-old Tom Hammack of Jenks, OK almost missed his turn to compete in the Open when snow in Denver delayed his flight, but he shot a career-best 679 to move into a tie for the Classified Singles lead on Monday.
