Really blah day yesterday.
193-204-203 for a 600 on the nose.
Simply too many opportunities wasted on an inconsistent swing. Argghhh... The line was there, it was not generous but it was available. And I started pushing my swing just a bit, here and there... Argghhh...

So the opportunity for tonight's league is to rid myself of the inconsistencies, find a little 700 treasure and get my average up to a 207 before the year is over.

Gotta relax and do it! :-)
Cheers

cg, sk8 got a split open in the 3rd game. You could improve on that and that will give you your first 700 if you match the rest.

Thanks for rubbing it in Dennis, that was a strange shot because it felt great off my hand, hit dead on what I was looking at and it went to about 37 feet it went dead left and just ripped through the nose. Next shot I move left and it skids way to long and barely reaches the pocket. The only thing I could think of was hitting a little dry spot or possibly getting my elbow out, but that rarely happens and I normally feel it so I doubt it.

That happened to me in the 9th of my last game last week. Threw the ball exactly where I wanted it, and about 5 feet short of the hook spot it made a big move left. I was lucky to get away with a makeable spare.

last night was position round, sat in 5th with 3 games back behind 4th. But 3rdplace team didn't show and forefit the night. We sweeps our game which was good, they gave a good fight the first game. I had a OK night with carring the 10pin, night ended a lil rough but pretty clean thoughout the night. Rolled 235 after struggling to get X's on the right lane the first 2 attempts on that side. I ended up using my Dimension on that lane and the Kinetic on the left. Seems to work. Second game was smacking the pocket good but barely tapping the 10pin but I'll take the 248. Third game was a lil rough, 2 split opens and two spares left me with a 209 for my efforts. 8 pins shy from the 700.

235,248,209=692 Booked in at 217 so I was +41 for the night.

THE LANEMAN RULES

Wow, what a night. 3 - 160 games and under 500 for the first time in a long time. In fact, 8 of the 10 bowlers on the lanes were under 500, and the lowest bowler among us had a 187 average.

We had 9 first ball gutters on the lanes. Outside of 10 was out of bounds. And, the back end had no snap. I didn't gutter, but had 2, 3 counts on the night.

It was a straight bowler's paradise, as one of my teammates had a 674. Damn, if she can do it, why couldn't I?

Ah yes as my bowling league for 2008 has ended for the season I actually bowled pretty good. 208 first game- figured that no one was on the lanes before us they would be pretty fresh for oil- BAH! backends were bone dry. I used my Rogue for 5 frames and after a 3,6,10,4,7 leave (which I picked up) put it in the bag and brought out the sting and never looked back.
Second game 252 with a 225 (opened tenth)in last for a nice 685 series to finish the year.

Overall was a great season even though the lanes were very inconsistant.

My Week 32 bowling (BowlSK)

Should've taken the hint when I stubbed a toe on my slide foot this morning...the toe felt better after ibuprofen, but I couldn't seem to get out of my own way tonight. I wasn't hitting my mark as often as I normally do, and when I did, it seemed something else was off. So much for averaging 185 at the end, as I'm now down to 183 with one week left. frown

Team lost all 3, getting crunched in 2, with only my big finish in the second game making that game look somewhat respectable.

Final night on Wed. 211-197-252 = 660. We took 5th in both halves. And, am I glad it's over. This league has cost me at least 15 pins on my average with all the headaches I have gone through.

The final one tonight. The house made a check for the league payout, $25,092, and made it payable to me and the Treas jointly. I questioned, why me? The Mgr said he contacted the Pres, who has been absent for the past 2 weeks, and the Pres said he quit, and to give the check to me, the VP. I've had it with this eff'n league.

And, it takes a lot to get me upset.
