Figured I'd start this year's summer league thread with winter leagues starting to wind down (the youth leagues have ended here, along with one adult league).
I plan on bowling this summer, but I'm not 100% certain which league it'll be in yet. I've indicated to two of my teammates from last summer that I'd like to bowl with them again on Wednesday nights, but my bowling cousins think that league is too cutthroat for them and were thinking about joining Summer His and Hers, which runs on Tuesday nights (actually one of my old leagues). I'll have to call my cousins to see if they're still thinking of changing summer leagues, though I will tell them I'd like to continue to bowl Wednesday nights, as I've already proven I can hang with these guys.
I'm bowling for sure. I'll hopefully be done with school this July. So I'm hoping during late July and August I will start bowling every day and really get my game together. You get like 90 free games at my center for bowling in the summer. Hoping to finally get myself into the 220 range that I've always felt like I should have been in.

I couldn't be happier with my new Center that I'm going to do my Summer leagues at.
First, its smoke free on Fri, Sat, and Sun except for the lounge. Which is nice here in St. Louis cause every place else is a smelly ashtray.
But most importantly, they have a perfect little pre-summer league. Only Four weeks, at $10 a week. Best part, you get a Brunswick Target Zone ball for joining! Which serves two purposes. First for me, it gets me a decent spare ball to go with my Vibe. Secondly, and even better is it makes sense for my Wife to join who doesn't own a ball and maybe I can get her hooked enough to join the regular summer leagues that start up after this one.
I just think its a great idea to help people get into bowling that might not of otherwise, so I'm excited to see some new people.

I'm still clueless, trying to find a 220-223 guy to fill our 635 trio, PBAX or wednesday $$ color pin league (non sanction)

I had planned on bowling the same Sport Shot league that I had the last 2 summers. But, that isn't going to happen. We signed my daughter up for t-ball and I am assistant coach. Because of her schedule and me going to Nationals, I would miss 4 weeks out of the 13 that they bowl. First night of league she has a game. Afterward, I am going to head over and talk with some of the guys and see if they need a sub for a week here and there. That is also the Tuesday before I leave for Nationals and they normally play the National shot for the first 2 weeks. I will be able to practice on it then. Oh well. Family first.
I still need to get signed up, but right now I think am going to be in two leagues this summer.
Friday Mix (one of those get a Pro Shop credit leagues ($150 not bad)) PBA Experience league (not sure on where or what day though)

I have a Wednesday league lined up with 3 of the guys I'm bowling the winter league with, starting the week after the winter league ends. The manager said they'd be putting out sport shots there to practice on during the summer, so I'm debating just using my free practice there, vs. joining a second league (and another $20/wk) for sport experience.

I'm still debating whether or not I am going to do a league this summer. Last summer was the only summer I hadn't bowled since I started bowling seriously in 2002. If I don't I am going to make a serious effort to get some coaching and make sure I get to the center on a regular basis.
