Hi folks,
Wondering if you on the ABT tour can help me... I'm rolling in my first tournament Sunday in NJ ( Baker Lanes cherry hill ) I'm told that most shots on this tour nationaly are from 10 board in. Is that correct? Normally my A game is up the 5 board, but I can shoot over 10 if needed. Are they using a reverse block condition? Would I be better going with a messenger TI or my Collossus Particle ball? Any help appreciated! I'm a stroker, not a cranker if that helps, also a lefty.

Thanks,
Noodle

I've been bowling ABT Tournaments here in San Diego for a little over a year and a half. I've placed in the top "5" qualifiers at least a dozen times and I've earned my first Championship title last Mar.'02.

The "shot" that we're seeing here lately is somewhat close to a sport shot. There's still more oil in the middle lanes as compared to the outside boards. Sometimes they lay-out a short oil (to about 24 ft.) and sometimes they oil out to about 38 feet.

Being a south-paw, you shouldn't have to change your comfort zone; however, try to read the lane conditions, e.g. if u normally play the 5 board and you see that your ball is hooking too early, then try to move about 2 boards to the right...

I've seen the reverse block oil condition "only" in the ABT Nationals in Las Vegas twice now (the first one was last Oct.2001 and the last time was in Apr.2002).

Hope this helps and "good luck"!!! wink
