Last night I threw ok 182-202-191 for 575 series. I had a couple fo perplexing things happen. I finally was able to get the bowling tape I wanted and it helped tremendously with my Black Widow. But I had my doubts about last night because I hadn't bowled at all since last Friday. I figured the 7 pin would be a pain in my butt and it was. 2 for 5 on my 7 pins last night.
Oh well, I figured it out, and it was like I couldn't miss after that. But still 3 7 pin misses and a baby split that I brain farted on is still 44 pins that I could've had.
Also I found that my Black Widow was rolling over the tumb hole about 5-6 times last night and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. I think it had something to do with my release. Additionally, quite frequently last night, my thumbhole kept pressing against my thumbnail upon releasing the ball. It hurt a little but was mostly just annoying.
Those things aside. My spare shooting is vastly improving with my plastic ball, which I'm really happy about.
I'm about to stay low and balanced for the most part at the line which I am also really happy about. The thing that was super excited about is that I was walking more in a straight line with my target line. I still drift every now and again but that is starting to disappear.
I know how you feel. In my one league I've been struggling with the same thing. I was slumping real bad a while back and in my Thrusday night league especially, I couldn't get a whole lot going. Now I have a 172 average in that league and a 181 average in my Friday night league and it bugs the hell out of me. I mean I've been bowling tremendously of late, with the exception of last week, and in that Thursday night league especially, but bringing your average back from a 168 is tough work that is going to take some time or about a month of tremendous sets (I had two a 655 and 692 in that league) and look it is still hasn't changed that much. Get as consistent as you can and it'll come. I do feel your pain though.
