Hi Sk8Shorty01 and Lefty,
Thanks for the very easy-to-understand and informative info on your leagues, and match-play leagues, in general. Both of your leagues sound really, really good and a lot of fun, and competitive. Everything sounds real well thought out. I'm the league statistician and website maintainer for our duckpin league, the White Oak Majors, located at www.mmstl.com
(and also at www.worldleagues.net
). It's a competitive league, although we don't use the match point system. I also have bowled tenpins and was going to try to join/start a league this coming fall. But, with all the good stuff you've told me, there's no reason why I can't suggest the match point system to our duckpin league, and maybe we could adopt that format for the upcoming season. After thinking about it, that type of format might control the sandbagging a little better.
If anybody's interested, and wouldn't mind taking a look at either of these websites mentioned above, it would be helpful to me to get some comments on how to improve the website. I do a pretty good amount of work with the data entry to get the site updated by the following morning, and I'm sure there are areas that could be expanded upon.
Again, thanks for all the great info, everybody.
