Wife and I attended the LI Classic Final this weekend. Just wanted to say we had a great time. The production was great, and all the bowlers were pretty nice to all the kids and adults alike saying hello and seeking autographs- especially Chris Barnes and Bill O'neal. We had a real treat watching Belmo compete too after all the press coverage. It was a much better value than going to a Met or Yankee game as the bowlers were much more appreciative of their position and relationship with their fans.
Good job PBA- I 'll check it out again next year too.....

glad you had fun. I am planning on going to the King of Bowling thing in Lake Wales this year. Not quite a full event but still should be fun.

I was thinking of going as I am out here on Long Island, but I have been to a PBA event before (actually a few) and they are great. The bowlers really appreciate the fans, they are very nice guys. Hopefully more people get to see how great they are.

I'd been to two tournaments myself, but none really recently. Before Brunswick Zone Carolier was given the US Open, they used to have the Johnny Petraglia open there, and I saw the finals for it twice. Once was an arena finals in 1996 on the Rutgers campus. All the bowlers came down through the stands, and my friend and I ended up sitting right next to where WRW was waiting to come down to the lanes. We both got to shake his hand and wish him good luck, he ended up winning. The second time in 1999 I was a freshman at Rutgers and I got to see the finals at Carolier. Doug Kent won the tournament that year. Great memories both times.

I have yet to see an event despite the fact there has been a Tour stop less than 10 minutes from my house the past 3 years, it's never worked out money wise. I have heard from those that have went that the bowlers have been very friendly. I'd really like to go, but I want to be able to go during the week as well. I get the feeling that with the World Series of Bowling the Baltimore stop will be chopped at least for this coming season.

I haven't been to a PBA event or a Regional event (even though I bowled a Pro Am last year and it was 10 minutes from my house). One of these days I will go. The tourney in Chicago has always been Thanksgiving weekend. Never works out so well.

Awesome. We haven't had a PBA stop down here in El Paso for a few years. I think next year the women's PBA is stopping by. I was out of town last time it was in town. I am looking forward to going to some soon. The LI stop would have been great to go to!
