Ian, all you have to do for a 200 is get a strike or a double (I can't remember) and pick up all of your spares. Additionally, "No tap" is a game variant where 9 counts count as strikes. So if you leave a bunch ten pins or the like you'll get a strike instead of 9 and potential spare leave. Lastly, it sounds like you are having a little trouble reading the lanes. And while it does take some time to develop that skill, I'll give you something that should help you out a ton. If you miss left, move left and if you miss right, move right.
As far as my bowling scores go, all low 500 series. I think on Wed. I threw 540 or somthing but not the big success sets I've been posting recently. It's mostly because I've been leaving more splits than usual and that combined with missing too many easy spares doesn't usually yield high scores. Oh well, I guess everyone has an off week. On the upside, I'm generating more power with my lower body or at least trying to, and I found out that I can wait on my swing and let gravity do more of the work (meaning it is getting freer).
So I'm rather happy about that. I need to work on my spare shooting, staying behind the ball, not charging the line and staying balanced and low at the line more.
