There's an old saying that I know you've heard before and it's straighter is greater. There is absolutely no reason to be playing that much of the lane with that forceful hand.

Work on slowing everything down. Your arm, body, feet, everything is too fast. Likewise, at the line, you seem to be forcing the ball through the swing to get the hand in it. Work on a much more relaxed swing and coming straight through and up the ball, not all the way around it.

Also, try picking your body up a little bit. It's not horrible, but you're putting yourself vulnerable to losing balance if you go too far.

Just my two cents. You don't have an absolutely horrible basic form. Just work on coming through the ball easier. Don't need to hook the entire lane to strike.

o trust me if i had a $ for every time ive heard that, and i have been practicing to straighten up my line and have even worked on a wrist position where i put more forward tilt on the ball, if i ever find my self going straighter with all that had, its on drier patters where i take plastic spare balls and swing from about 10 to 5, and i do find myself carry better but i will sure take that advice given...

with a less aggressive hand position, how do you stop the body from doing its normal tendencies and grab it at the bottom of the swing???

Your style reminds me of Bobby Knight throwing chairs out on the basketball court a few years back.

You work entirely too hard at trying to hook the ball and are not gaining control of the break point. You aren't using your legs which means you could be hooking the ball just as much or more with less effort.

You have no arm swing to speak of, you just rear back and chuck the ball down the lane while twisting the snot out of it.

If you truly want to learn to bowl I will help you, and it will take a lot of change on your part. If you don't believe me watch bowling on TV and let me know how many of the pros throw the ball like you. Almost all of them can hook the ball as much or more than you do so let me know if you want to make the commitment, if not, have fun, that's why you bowl in the first place.

If you overlayed the 2, they would be really close.

BTW, clean out your PM's. You're full. Or maybe that's your plan?
