Tommy Jones. Great season. Patrick Allen came alive in the past couple of months. I think he got lucky when Mika missed his shot for the tie breaker, but oh well... I'll say Tommy Jones.

I think that Patrick Allen was more consistent this year. He was in the final eight it seemed like every week. Plus, Patrick has a Major. They are harder to win. As we saw last year, just because you won the most tourny's doesn't mean you get the player of the year award. PA made the show for 3 of the 4 Majors. I think that says a lot.

I completly agree with S Stroker--
Winning a Major and making the show in two other Majors is an immense accomplishment--Patrick Allen gets my vote as well

Well I would love to see Tommy Jones win it. But I think PA is gonna take it. But man I love watching Tommy bowl.

Patrick Allen - not only the best lefty on tour, but the best player as well - when it's important, PA shows up. Tommy Jones is a great talent, but he was nowhere to be seen in the majors.

As Tiger Woods would say, majors are all that matter.

PA is a good bowler, no doubt. I didn't see him in the finals Sunday, though. $200,000 would be pretty important to me....Parker Bohn would be my choice for best lefty. Overall would have to be W.R.W. Jr. Unless you look at class, W.R. is a class act but Norm Duke is awesome. I realize these guys were not in the running but they deserve recognition. I saw PA when he was here in Dallas. Told him congrats on making the show. He acted like I offended him or something. His attitude does not impress me at all. He's a good bowler, but it's like beautiful women. Attitudes can ruin the whole package.......

Patrick Allen. Nothing aganst Jones Jones, 4 wins is great, but overall PA had a better year. He was ahead of TJ in nearly all of the stats except wins, and 3 wins, plus 2 seconds in majors certainly gives him the edge. When the my ballot shows up, PA will get my vote.

The cash winnings and point total stats indicate that Patrick Allen would be the obvious choice for Player of the Year. He has 51,633 more points acrued that T.J., earned $126,610 more than Tommy Jones. (Forget about the second place finishes though, Walter Ray Williams can testify to that.)

I like Tommy Jones for Player of the year, because when he got to the show he was indomitable and and seemingly invincible, he appeared in four shows and won all four. Patrick Allen appeared in five and won three, one being a Major. How many titles is one major worth or in other words how many titles does it take to equal one major title. He has as many cashes as P.A. altough not as lucrative. He has appeared in as many, actually, one more match play appearance than P.A.. Patrick Allen average is only .51 higher than Tommy Jones.

I've not been impressed by PA's attitude on the TV finals. He goes a bit overboard when he wins. My wife, who's not a bowler, but gets stuck watching bowling with me on Sunday mornings, can't stand PA. I think she'd pick Chris Barnes. Tommy Jones seems much more humble. Age might have something to do with that. But unless attitude factors in, PA probably deserves it.
