Scores were down across the board. The breakdown was so quick and drastic that there were some guys trying to cross 6th arrow in the last game.

Righty that was on my pair and qualified 4th was the one I was trying to follow through the transition. He found a home crossing 3d arrow out to 5 at the BP. He was using a Brunswick Time Zone with some shine on it, pin up and a little right of his ring finger. My ball speed was higher than his, so I was using my HyRoad at 4000 abralon. By the time I put it away the track looked like it had been hit with a 320 pad. Same thing happened with my T Road Pearl at OOB and Gravity Shift at OOB. Granted, I didn't throw every ball the way I wanted, but even when I did I wasn't getting the good result.

Is your rev rate higher than the righty that qualified?

If the righty that qualified had the same rev rate, but less speed than you and was using a weak solid ball drilled to flare, you may have been grabbing on the ball at the release, this causes the ball to over/under react as it comes out of the oil as you described.

A softer release will help scoot the ball through the heads instead of making it dig in and grab early. Softening the release shouldn't effect your rev rate if done properly, this might be an area you want to look at.

I agree with CoachJim here. A good example of this was Michael Fagan three or so weeks ago. he was nice and smooth through the ball until the finals and then it looked like his release got a little to deliberate and that caused a lot of over/under reaction. I think if you could float the ball out a little more it would have given you a much more predictable path to the pocket.
