but think about it this way, I bet you get way better pin action when the pins are already rocking a little bit from the shock wave of the ball being thrown through the floor. Never know smile

Dropping the ball behind the foul line is something I'm always battling, and I hope being mindful of my wrist position through my swing (as per my last lesson) helps me do that less.

Hmm... I have a 170-average friend who releases the ball a good 5 feet from the foul line. Stands by the first set of dots and takes 4 of the smallest steps I've seen from any bowler.

I was doing this when I first came back. It was due to getting to the line too fast. I have fixed that but see a lot of guys who do it.

The foul sensor should not go off if it is working correctly. Normally the sensor beam has to be broken for a second or so (I don't know the exact amt of time). In most cases the ball passes through the beam too quickly to set it off. In rare cases I have seen a malfunctioning sensor go off when a ball is delivered from behind the foul line and hopefully for the bowler someone back on the bench saw that he did not foul.
