I know it's only one block, but so far it's going the way I thought it would. I'm still going with my original picks. PDW, Tommy Jones, Fagan all on the show. Accurate revs and control of ball speed will win the tourny.

After 1 block, Robert Smith is 6th and Jason Belmonte is 7th. Their scores make me wonder: how in the world do they shoot 230s with a plastic ball?

I think there is a reason that they are considered pros!

Remember, its the Cheetah pattern. That's a short pattern and they used less oil than normal. You already know that there is a friction spot way outside. So, if you can control your speed and hit your target consistently with a high rev rate, you will probably carry better than most. Even plastic will carry with enough friction. And they are good enough to hit that outside spot without fear of going in the gutter.

After looking at the brackets, there is a possibility of PDW meeting WRW Jr. on the show. I don't think Walter Ray will make it, but you can never count him out. He was consistent, just not really high. Belmonte looks like he will be hard to beat. I hope Voss makes the show. My picks stay the same though
PDW vs Barnes
Fagan vs Smith
PDW vs Smith
PDW wins

I'd like to see Eddie VanDaniker make the show. He qualified third. It's going to be a hard road with Brian Voss, Sean Rash, Micheal Fagan and Mike Machuga all in his quarter of the bracket. If he moves on there are good odds he would have to bowl up against one of them as the rounds progress.

Read Schlem's column. At the end, this is what he put.

Until I write again, about plastic balls, blocked weighted, with 220 grit, have a good week and BOWL UP A STORM!!!

I wonder if they are sanding the balls to 220? That would make them hook.

Belmonte uses plastic on the regular patterns as well. He was using plastic on the [censored] Weber Open pattern, ball went 40 feet and made a real strong move to the pocket. It was really nice to watch.

Two of my guys faded at the end of the round of 64. TJ and Rash fell to 10 and 11, respectively.

Robert smith is still in the top 10 at 7th.

Not surprised to see Belmonte, Weber, or Couch in the Top 10.

If I'm not mistaken, DeVaney is a pretty high rev guy also.

I hope belmonte makes the show, I have not seen the two hand delivery before and everytime I am at home where I can watch videos I forget to look him up.
