The USBC has just posted that the payoffs for the brackets will NOT be at Cashman field(ON SITE) You will have to go to Binion's in Downtown Vegas to get any money you have won

This has strired up quite the hornets nest on the USBC website. It is very inconvient having to go to downtown vegas to get your bracket money, instead of onsite as the USBC has been telling everyone. Also Binion's takes a fee for dispursing your money from the USBC

There is a posting on the USBC website all about this subject

This is common to have the payouts off site. The USBC does not run the brackets, and has NO license to do so. All payouts have to be offsite, generally in a hotel in the town.

And someone always takes a cut when they run brackets.

Yep it's like $5 so instead of getting $30 you get $25 and second gets $10 for a $5 bracket.

I don't remember them ever paying out at the tournament site.

I don't know why, its only been like this for dozens of years. Its impossible to pay out at the site at that moment. There's just too many bowlers and too little space. Bowlers hanging over your shoulder demanding instant results.

What's the problem? You can't go a few blocks down the road to a different location to get your pay out? Heck most of the time there's a different location for senior vs regular brackets. If you get into both, you are really running around. I say, just be glad that you HAVE to run around, it means you bowled well.

As for the expense fee. NO ONE does brackets for free. NO ONE. Does anyone do anything for free anymore? NO didn't think so. Do you think that anyone is going to employ (yes employ) a dozen people, to check ids, pay out, keep track of winnings and pick ups, do the computer imput and ultimately be responsible for thousands of dollars every shift for FREE?? You think these people are sitting there working all day, taking c rap from bowlers, as volunteers?

Yeah, just the way that it has been and is today.
I can remember the payout location in Baton Rouge was a pretty good walk to the casino/hotel that was paying out, if I remember correctly... and yes, Reno is the same way every 3 years.

I made the mistake of pulling my balls to go for a payout in Reno. 2 blocks the other way, was my hotel. But, NO, I thought I would walk for my payout then back to the hotel. That was a big mistake. Must have walked over 2 miles, pulling 4 balls.

The moral of the story? Don't pull your balls.
