Is it me, or are there a lot of Midwest people showing their game?

Wisconsin is killing it at Nationals.

19 days (since it is Sunday in Chicago). I am getting restless. Going to practice later today. I need to get in some games.

Doesn't Wisconsin always kill it at the Nationals, hence some of the theories that will float around about a secret Wisconsin shot when USBC was still there?

On the boards on bowl.com, there are a few guys who are on the leaderboard out there. I don't think that there is a secret shot up there. I just think that there is good teamwork going on. They have 10 guys breaking down the shot together. They all move together and help one another. Also, what you do in D/S is a crapshoot. It all depends on who bowls team in front of you. If you have 2 teams who work together to breakdown a shot together before you, you have a good shot. If you have a team of classified bowlers spraying the ball, good luck.

I know it's not a secret shot but over the years I've been on bowl.com people have constantly brought up that conspiracy theory. Like you said it's teams working together that happen to be very good bowlers that have experience on tougher conditions as well. It's just a matter of them making the right decisions.

Most of the people on those teams from there who are on the leaderboard are either ex-pros, ex-regional pros, or current regional pros. I know that they all bowl on Sport shots all of the time. For people like that, it keeps their games sharp.

You can figure out the shot, but you still have to execute, and get a break or two.

The 20th 300 of the 2009 USBC Open, and the first by an international bowler this year, was thrown by Joe Ciach of Missisauga, Ontario, a seven-time member of Team Canada. The 300 came in his second game bowling for KR Strikeforce 1 of Bowmanville, ON in the team event.

Jeff Johnson of Freeport, IL came within a shot of throwing a 300 at the USBC Open nine years ago. This year, the 41-year-old accomplished the feat in his last game of singles for the 21st 300 of the event.

After cruising to the Senior Singles title at the Bowlers Journal event last year, 56 year old Rick Perry of Kalispell, MT once again had success while in town for the USBC Open, posting a 226-299-289=814 set to move into second place in Regular Singles behind Ron Vokes of Racine, WI, who also still leads in Regular All-Events.

So many good bowlers in the Racine/Kenosha area, maybe I shouldnt move and stay here and drink the lake michigan water :P

Or get some help from them and put in all the work those guys have put in for years and on demanding conditions.
