Interesting that ESPN balked at including bowling in Sport Center. No wonder we have so much trouble getting respect as a sport.

Question - where is the additional prize money coming from? More sponsors? Higher entry fees? Advertising? Anyone have any input?

I listened to press conference so I can shed some light.

Steve Risser, ESPN Vice President of Programming, stated something like, the Programming Department does not interfere with or have any control over the editorial content at SportsCenter.....they essentially chose their stories at their own discretion. He did infer that a deal of this magnitude and with the amount of promotions that will be made that its likely that SportsCenter would at least notice bowling now.

The PBA management stated that the additional prize money would be coming from sponsors that will be obtained at the national level (not local level sponsors or proprietors.)
