decent but frustrating night. I just couldn't finiish the game off right, Every game I had a decent string going into the tenth with possible strike out scores of 258, 248 & 246. First game I threw a church on the first ball of the tenth for a 225, second game I got a /x on the 10th for a 221, last game got another /x in the 10th for a 223. Losing 20+ pins on that first ball alone in all of those game. Lanes were normal but I knew it was gonna burn up, one guy on the other team is a high speed high rev bowler that likes to throw up the 5bd or loop it out some to the 5-6. By the third game I had to move to the left some otherwise I'd catch his line and the ball would come in hard. Each game I had a fat split in very bad spots too. Tonight I played with the Kinetic, standing 27 break on the 4-5 bd.... Oh well, gonna sub at another house for a friend on Wednesday so we'll see that goes.

so to wrap it up, 225,221,223 =669. +15 for the night over my 218 ave. Consistant but could have been alot better.

My average has dipped a few points over the last month or so, down to 138. Haven't been happy about it, because I have not been bowling well.

Tonight, though, I started out with a 159...too many open frames, but I ended fairly strong. I started the second game with strikes in the first five frames...ended up with a 214 and only 1 open frame. Last game was erratic, and I left some easy spares I should have converted, and only rolled a 135. The 214 game was a new personal best, so I walk away from the night happy.

Friday night league went rather well although my spare shooting was irratic at best.

first game: strike, 10 pin (missed), 8 bagger, 6-10 converted for a 256

second game: front 4, 4 pin (missed), 10 pin, 7 pin, strike out (I think) for 235.

thrid game: 10 pin missed, turkey, 4 pin missed, double, 10 pin, strike, 6-10 missed for a 197.

If I would have made some spares I would have had a really great series but either way I can't complain about shooting 688. I worked on my spare game again yesterday and everything was fine so I guess it was just an off night for one reason or another. I don't think I missed my mark on a spare all day yesterday (5 games) so I was back on track. Our team also took 5 out of 7 points so that is good as well, as we moved back into 2nd place overall.

I sucked tonight pure and simple. I wasn't lined up in practice and that continued although I eeked my way through the first game. 217-178-178, 573!! Almost a triplicate! We took 3 of 7 points by taking the last game and wood, so goes another sub par Tuesday from the sound of the alarm until me setting it.

BACK ON TRACK!!!!
203-203-239=645
The last few weeks I sure have stuggled so I wanted to take a new approach in my warm-ups. Usually I go to my benchmark ball first which is the sting. This time I brought out my terminator because lately the lanes have been oily and by the time I figure them out its too late. So I throw the first ball, wide left so much for using the terminator. 2nd ball used the sting right through the nose. Ok, easy choice for the night, busted out the hornet and good to go all night. I went from standing on 30 out over 15 at the arrows to standing on 35 over 15 and then back to 30 out to 15 in the 3rd game due to carry down. Crazy but I felt like I was getting a handle on what I've been doing wrong. Highlight of the night for me was a 4 9 pickup plus we took 5 pts. Lets see how my stragety works next week.

Raggity, I don't want to rain on your parade or anything but to me it sounds like you might have moved yourself out of alignment. Although you scored well, a 5 board with your feet, and nothing with your eyes, tends to cause most to reach a little to much to get to their desired target. I am glad it worked for you but make sure you don't jump to conclusions and try to use that alignment to much as it might end up hurting your score in the long run. I would think maybe moving from 30-15 to lets say 33-16 probably would have given you the same results but with a little better finish on the backends. Next time you are at the lanes and have a similar reaction try it and see if your carry increases somewhat.

Anyways, good shooting, glad to hear you are back on track! Keep up the good work.

Another interesting point was myself and our anchor both went to our pearl balls in practice. Anchor used cherry vibe and I was using the hornet. Our 2nd bowler was using his buzz(drilled strong) and was having a hard time with it. We told him in the 5th frame of first game to switch and he didn't. He then switched (ultrazone pearl)in the 2nd game and shot 200+ for the rest of the night. I know everytime is different but being able to recongnize which equipment to use seperates a 200+ average bowler from a 180 average bowler along with spare shooting

My Week 19 bowling (BowlSK)

I was missing the pocket quite a bit tonight, leaving a lot of splits, washouts, and picket fence type leaves. I did convert on 2 of the splits in the first game (a 6-7-10 and a 2-7), and my spare game was better overall. Once I moved out into the dry for the last game, I got a couple of doubles, but a bad release in the 10th frame left me with another split and ruining a possible deuce. It was a bad night overall for my team, as well, as we could only manage one point even with the other team having 3 bowlers absent.

Well, I bowled for the first time in 2 weeks. Fighting pneumonia has slowed me down. I really didn't feel strong, and I have lost a few pounds. But, tonight we bowled a team that we really have fun with. Seems like we bowl our best against each other, it's competitive, and really a challenge.

I struggled in the first game, X/X/X, then went into a funk with 3 opens, and I wasn't close to any of them. Finished Ok for a 188.

Second game, I started slowly, but finished strong and squeeked out a 211. The third game, I started with the first 4 then pulled a ball leaving a 1-3-6. Shaking my head, I just let the ball roll for the spare, and picked the 3 out of the middle. Shaking my head again, I slowed down for a 4-6-7. Then finished strong for another 211. Speed control is everything.

Our team shot a 668, 640, 650 and my 610. Our opponents shot 680, 640, 670, and 590. But we lost 2 games of 3. Felt good to bowl again.

Gotta stop getting 2 opens every game.
