The release date for the Second Dimension appears to be February 12. It looks like one badass ball. I hope it hooks earlier and smoother than the Hy-Road I just got. I am am so disappointed with this ball. I thought it would be a lot stronger than what it was. Maybe it's the way it was drilled. I'm going to get a second opinion.

The Second Dimension is going to be a stronger ball. I believe it's stronger in the midlane and they both roll into the pocket nicely. Is the problem with your Hy-Road that it's not strong enough or the hook shape? Have you tried changing the surface? a lot of people like it at 4000 abralon.

Yes I would say it is the hook shape. It hooks so freaking late, and it's not enough, and it's hard to control. When I had my Storm X Factor I could start way over to the left, throw it almost all the way to the right and it would come back nicely. It was so strong I would even get Brooklyns many times. A very forgiving ball. I got 2 more balls coming on Thursday, another Hy-Road and a Cell Solid. I'm hoping that they will perform better. And yes, stronger in the midlane is definitely what I am after.

Don't cut the ball out just because it's not hooking for you.. there can be a lot of factors.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. I'm going to try taking it down to 2000 grit abralon and see if that helps.

Vince:

What is the surface that you have the Hy-Road at now? What is the drilling? Post a pic of it.

As far as I know the finish hasn't been changed at all since it came out the box. I will take a pic and post it here shortly so you can see how it was drilled.

Knock the polish off. 4000 grit would be good to start without polish. If that doesn't work, go to 2000. Do it gradually.

Okay I will try that. Thanks. The Pro Shop guy says he would only charge me $5. Not bad. I hope it will help this ball start hooking earlier and more smoothly and not so late and erratically.
