All of this also has to be done before the ball is checked in for that squad. If you try to change the surface in the squad room, which would mean by hand anyways, you are suppose to take it back to get check in again.

To add what Jim said. I have my stuff done with a spinner. If I need a "touch up", I will do it by hand. Not very hard and not for very long.

So Jim, what would be your suggestion of spare ball to bring if i dont take my Budwiser ball........I do have a older ball that does not hook as much, guess i could bring that out of the attic sand it up and take it...(better practice first though???) thanks for all your assistance

i guess my real question is...whats the difference between a urethene ball and a plastic ball??

Grip, a urethane ball has better grip, and depending on the ball a real core.

At Nationals your spare shooting ability is extreemely important. If you can make any pin on the deck with your Budweiser ball, by all means take it with you. The more confident you are in your spare game the better you will score. Don't take chances with spares.

I'm up just east of Baltimore in the Essex area. Right now I'm just bowling a Saturday League at Perry Hall.

very nice, so we are pretty close. Very soon Greenway should be putting down the National oil pattern. although the lane surface is not the same, gives a good indication of conditions i would think.

I've heard when Greenway puts down the National pattern it gives on a good idea of how it could be. I've never went to National nor bowled Greenway when they have it down. I've only rolled at Greenway a couple of times, normally mid day during the week when I've worked close to it and knew I would be getting off early.
