The second game, I was trying to force a line that just wasn't working. I made my move in the 8th frame of the 2nd game and finished the game strong. That line held for the 3rd game. I threw the front 8 and I threw a decent ball in the 9th frame. It entered the pocket a lately flat and I left a 10 pin. I made it and then struck out in the 10th frame. I was a bit angry because I missed my mark in the 9th frame causing my ball to not finish well. I've had 2 goods weeks in a row haha. 772 last night and last Thursday I choked and threw a 297. Both highs for me. I'm feeling pretty good about my bowling right now. I wasn't even thinking about a triplicate lol.

lol, reminds me of Kingpin: "So what's your average?"
"Oh about 297..."
"Well that'd make you the best bowler I've ever seen!"
*After losing*
"I thought you said your average was 297! You bowled a 180!"

It went something like that. Great movie

i think the next line is "we amish do everything 50% more than usual" or something like that, and that's when he realizes that his 297 average is in 15 frames. haha.

I went and played three games yesterday at a different place than I play in my league. I did terrible! 100, 88, 113. All below my normal average. I attributed a couple things to this.

1. It was a different place.
2. I was the only person in the whole place bowling, everyone else was in the bar. (I't was 3:00 in the afternoon)
3. I was by myself.

I think the third reason was what contributed the most. I did not have people there rooting me on (my league mates), I did not get the normal rest between rolls and I could not get the negativity out of my head after a bad shot.

Needless to say, I don't think I will be going to practice much by myself anymore.

Well remember cowboybrad, practice doesn't mean you are bowling at your best. You should be working on a specific area of your game, reguardless of score. I could not tell you how many times I have gone in to bowl 3-4 games of shooting strictly 10 pins. Sure I finish with about a 30 but thats ok because I am working on my spare game. Also remember that you should never run away from what you are not good at, you should figure out why and learn to beat it. If its bowling by yourself, or the inner you getting in the way of you bowling, that is something that you can go in and learn to control. Just because you don't score well doesn't mean you are not learning something. Maybe its learning to get used to letting bad shots roll off your back while you have nobody else there to pick you up, and if thats the case, good then you are still learning and improving your game. Remember that if you bowl in a tournament, you are alone, everyone is hoping you flop because it just increases their chances so there isn't that friendly league attitude. You have to be in control of yourself at all times, and that means being able to pick yourself up after you fall.

Oh, man, don't let that cloud your view of practice, Cowboy. Get right back on that horse and hit that house again. You'll have to get used to bowling in foreign locales AND doing it by yourself so it's best if you get to as many in your area as you can. Pretty soon, they'll feel all about the same to you when you walk in--just different layouts.

Well, except Reno. Completely different experience.

Anyway, chin up and get back out there and try it all over again. wink

Yeah I was trying to be consistent and throw the same ball everytime. I think I was a little fatigued towards the end which probably helped me slow down. Hence the better game!

something ironic just recently happened. I was baking my ball(Stupid I know) earlier today. It was the one I just recently shot a 297 and a 772 series with. well I had the oven set at 150 and pulled it out in 30 minute intervals for 2 hours. well when I went to get the ball out, I saw that the temperature gauge was at like 500. My mom accidentally walked by the oven and glanced the temperature [censored] causing the temperature to increase. I'll post some R.I.P pics later lol.
