Maxims are of the most hooking plastic balls out there. You'll have to learn to throw with less rotation. I throw mine with about 20 degrees I'd say, and it still hooks a little bit if it finds dry. This hurts and helps me depending on how I miss my target. I'd throw with 0 rotation but frankly it's hard for me to do consistently, and accuracy doesn't get any easier.

It's not league but I took advantage of the time off of work with the holiday. Last night I bowled some practice on lanes 35-36 and did good 230-252-268-171. Today I went back and got the same lanes no oiling and rolled 205-222-268-234. I'm finding my game again. All that has changed is my timing (I was starting too early) and I moved back to the right part of the lane playing the 10 board and the gutter. I always knew playing a deep shot was not my "A" game although I've had mild success at times. Also when I do have a let down game like that 171 it's all focus and adjustments. I have to eliminate the stupid errors that result in splits and cover 10 pins. Once I do that at a higher rate I'll be back where I want to be.

I bowled about 2 days ago and with the Holidays have gotten around to posting up just now. But it started off pretty decent with a 214 then I bowled my new high game, a 267, that one open framed killed me! Then the night kinda dropped for some reason, 157, back to back 186's. I think after my high game the lady to the lane left of me was getting the better of me... She was completely wasted, or stoned, or both! Loud and annoying and just all over the alley. walking in other people's way, the whole nine yards. I'm not saying I would have bowled better had she not been there, but I think I would have had a decent chance of increasing the scores I had. Ah, excuses don't fix anything. But I think I got much better and controlling how far I let the ball slide out, hope I didn't just jinx myself in saying that

Every plastic ball hooks to some extent. Of the spare balls I've tried, the white dot has the least hook au natural...you can make any plastic ball go straight with enough wax, though.

New Year's tournament today, and I went because my wife was out of town. smile My legs were shot after 2.5 games as usual; my hip flexor is still bugging me right now, so I'll have to wait and see about tomorrow's league. I made a slight comeback at the end by going back to my old (too-high) release point with urethane.

259-189(changed ends)-233-210-197-179-184-202-238 for 1891/210.1, one pin over my perennial tournament goal. Against the local scratch bowlers my +196 (with bonus) was 400 pins behind the winner and about 200 pins short of the money, but I had a good time.

Tried out my newly added Arsenal - The Break S-75(900Global) for the 1st night. Reached the alley at the right time when the lanes were freshly oiled. This ball really works great on the oily condition. Stanced on the centre, targeting on the 6th to 7th board, the backend is really astonishing, much better than the Fury Solid.
When i am able to grab hold of the "soccer ball", i believe my arsenal will be perfect.

We have these old-fashioned 'polishing machines' at our bowling alleys. four quarters equals ten minutes.
