203,257,208=668 series. Same problem as you K.M.Ryan. Ball kept falling out of my hand on my spares. I like Randy Petersons qoute of it "feeling like a wet bar of soap". Nice shootin on the series though.

thank you sir, same to you. only wish i had the chance to reshoot that spare, but weird stuff happens all the time, and i was not deterred in the least by it. the 12 frames after that weird shot were X, 9/X to close the second game, then
9/ 9/ X X X X X X X [censored] in the third game. The last few shots were interesting because a small crowd had actually gathered behind me and i didn't feel anything change with them there.

So after some pretty nice scores in Oct. and early Nov. we hit Thanksgiving. And though I'm thankful, I'm not thankful for the chaos that the whole holiday season has wrought. My scores have plummeted. Its tough to hit 550. Travel league was a recent low at 513. Its a slump I keep saying. It'll get better. And when 580, 590 happens that's a good thing. I tell myself I have to practice, but that's been my mantra for a couple years now. LOL Life is hectic, times are tough. Three jobs makes it difficult to even want to practice. Pro Shop sales are down over 50% from last year. Its depressing out there.

But there maybe is a light. 593 on Wed and 597 on Friday. Actually if I hadn't had a brain fade on Friday with a 172 game in the middle I'd be estatic. Again, I'm seeing not that many opens. Maybe 3 or 4 a set. But not a lot of carry. I'm in the pocket, just cannot carry. If I'm leaving 10 pins, I try to get the ball a bit higher in the pocket and leave 4 pins. I get frustrated and wiff a single pin spare. I get to the pocket and leave an 8-10. Tell myself to get more rotation and fingers and leave a 4-9. Move in so I'm not in the over/under area and leave a 5-4. What the heck!!!! There's three opens right there , wiff a 10 pin or two in 36 frames and no strings of strikes to back them up. And that's how 550-580 happens.

Now for the good stuff. I did bowl 2 200 games on Friday night(second shift). A big achievement for me recently. Started with a strong 228 game, though it was going to be a great night. And then the second games started. I moved, did this , did that trying to out think the end pair we were on. 172 resulted. Finally moving back to where I was in the first game and starting my moves over, I had to fight tooth and nail for a 203 game. But at least I did it. I fought back and didn't let the 170 game rule my night.

Had a minor competition this morning. Teamed up with another 3 friends against 29 lanes of bowlers for 3 games.Bowled 165-192-233 for 590. Got so excited in the middle of the 3rd game when i picked up the 4-7-10 split. Mental did play a major part in that shot.

Tried every ways to compensate my line. Moving forward, backward, sideways. Had 3 lefties playing the same line as me!! Tough day.

A good achievement actually. Love the sport. Love this forum sharing so many important advices. Thanks again, Bowlingcommunity.

Just came back from 5 games of practice. Got a new individual High of 255. Still not contented though. Lost balance during release for a couple of shots. But some are ok. I can see the releasing hand is coming to my face from bottom which is good.
My ball-side shoulder still quite square for some shots, probably i am forcing my arm swing again. Must work this out.

Started off decent with a 224...would have been better but i got a really bad break with a deep pocket hit and left 7-10...

Oil started carrying down and i could not get the ball to give me any type of consistant reaction for the rest of the night finished 178, 158

Really getting frustrated at the end as i could not find any type of solid line anywhere on the lane

No scores today. My dad and I went to test drive our new bowling balls today. He got the hang of his Cell despite that fact that the house we went to today is supposed to be one of the houses with more oil on the lanes. Regardless, he adjusted and got the hang of it. As for myself, I was rather fortunate because the Venus is a light-med oil ball, so I didn't have to play the 5-7 boards all day.

I had some trouble getting out of the ball in the beginning but eventually I was able to because two huge break-throughs. The first was utilizing the TJ method of reducing grip pressure. And the second is that I mastered a free swing or at the very least, swinging from the shoulder and transfering the weight of the ball to my fingers. I'm still having a little bit of trouble with my foot work but towards the end I was spot on. Nothing like putting the ball in the pocket 8 times and having one ten pin and 7 explosive strikes to finish practice. I was also fiddling around wth the 3-point targeting system and that is definately harder to use on strike shots than spares because you are visualizing a stright line but you know the ball is going to hook so it is a little hard to wrap your head around. Overall, I think it was a very successful practice session for the both of us.

I went this morning. 1st game was a clean 225, using my bite and playing straight up the 2nd arrow. 2nd game I shot 204 after a split in the 7th frame, also with the bite. 3rd and fourth games I moved to the cell playing the same line and shot 213 and 254 respectively. For the 5th and final game, I used my new Link and played up the first arrow, shooting 189 due to an open in the 10th. All in all it was a productive day, since I am now trying to go straighter and straighter every time I bowl.

I hope the next time I bowl on the ToC pattern is due to the fact that I have won a PBA national event. I do not consider pointing the ball at the pocket for 5 games to be fun.

On the plus side, Billy Oatman only beat me by 5 pins.
