I just got a call from a buddy that was subbing at Brunswick Perry Hall Lanes tonight in the men's league called Drug Trade of Baltimore, which according to a banner is the longest running league in ABC/USBC history dating back to 1895 and in Perry hall since 1961. A bowler by the name of Rich Gerome just finished rolling a 900 series. Of course it still needs to go through all the proper sanctioning procedures, but I don't see any reason why it won't be sanctioned since numerous other honor scores from that house have been sanctioned in the past few months. This will of course set a new local and state record as well.

Nice!! Putting the east coast on the map again. How ironic the name of the league is from back then to today's meaning...

Good times! Still waiting to see a 300 this season... haven't seen one in almost two years.

I've yet to see one bowled. Then again, I'm in "for fun" leagues. I'll switch to the Sport league beginning in the summer.

Thats great. Any 900 series deserves a pat on the back. Heck its hard enough just to get a 300 game.

I agree Eastwest, the name of the league when I first heard about was a little weird but now knowing its the name from over a hundred years ago makes a lot more sense.

I've seen numerous 300 games, have heard the announcement of even more(just in the last few weeks at that) and have one to my credit. I've also seen several 800 series' bowled. I had been thinking about trying to go and sub in the same league last night but with the way I have been bowling wouldn't want to hurt a team. I'm wishing I had now. This center is known for the high scores coming out of there which is partly the lane conditions and the caliber of bowler that bowls there.

900 is an awesome accomplishment, I can't even imagine what it must feel like to bowl that. No matter what you're bowling on, that's simply amazing.

I've witness three 300s this season, two on a thursday night league and one on a tuesday night league. The two on thursday nights is from the same person but on different nights. That same person apparently bowled 299 in his sunday league too. There's been a 298 on thursday and a 299 on wednesday as well. No 800s. I don't bowl any of those leagues but sometimes I'm there and I end up watching for a bit. My driller bowls thursdays and I like to watch his team.

I was present in my house for 2 300s this season, both bowled in the same league. I don't think we've had an 800 for a while, and certainly not in the competitive Coke Classic League (Monday nights on a tougher shot that is similar to what they were using in the PBA Ultimate Scoring Championship), where, as of last week, the high game was only 290 and the high series was 779.

sweet, another 900. maybe bowling will get some more hype now, some people seem to me like they're losing excitement for the game.
