You can look at the 2nd page of
http://www.brunswickbowling.com/uploads/...ction-Final.pdf

You can see that the RG values for the generic core are much different than the original core.

Actually I don't think it's that relevant at all. When comparing a 12lb ball to a 14lb ball, the difference in weight seems far more relevant.

Looks like i have some weight-lifting to do. Anyway, it wont stop me from getting a new "Avalanche Solid".

Are there any balls being made today in 12lbs that have a relatively dynamic core? Having never handled a ball outside of a house ball and my old 10lb, I don't know what to expect from a generic 12 and a dynamic 14, so I suppose I will be happy even with a generic core, but being fairly serious about bowling, I'd still like the best I can get.

I've asked 5-6 of the prominent companies out there, and only Columbia even bothered replying to my email, but couldn't even provide me with a picture of their generic core.

Or is the moral of the story, since the RG is nearly the same on the 12lb balls as the 14, then it doesn't matter? I don't know much about RG yet.

Thanks guys
Chris

If you are really serious about bowling, you should be thinking of getting a 14 lbs ball at least. Don't expect good carry with lighter balls than that.

My sister is pretty skinny - weighs 115 lbs and throws a 14 lbs ball. So I'm sure you could too.

I have to agree to Luksa. I have been using my Power Drive
(13.5lbs) for years and recently changed to the Twisted Fury(14 lbs). Although i do notice the loss of rev during the early stages, but with abit of techniques, it had helped me with an improved Average.
Go for at least a 14lbs. Enjoy the sport. : )
