In hind sight, I probably shouldn't haven't have bowled. First ball in practice hurt. Not just a little either. Where I had the bump removed in below my right knee and a little to the left. I didn't realize the stress on the skin when you bend your knee and your foot is extended. My teammates told me to sit down but I tried 1 more shot but more upright. Then I was fine. Instead of getting my normal deep knee bend, I bent at the waist. Not text book but it worked. First game, I shot a clean 196. It wasn't too bad. I had a hard time finding the pocket. Second game, 2 opens for a 192. I found the pocket that game. Had a few strikes. Missed a 10 pin cause I wasn't lined up right. Then I missed the 1-3-6. I got the ball out and had zero fingers in the ball. 3rd game I had a 214 with 2 opens again. First frame I left the big 4. Then I moved way in. Had a few in a row. 8th frame I missed another 10 pin.

All told, 602 for the night. Not too bad. There was a nice shot out there tonight that on a normal night I could have capitalized on. As a team, we won 7. We are now 8 points out of first and in a 3 way tie for 3rd. We have 2 weeks left of this half. Next week then rolloffs. We need a few pieces to fall our way to win this half.

So I didn't bowl on Tuesday night but my team went 5-2.
Our anchor who bowled a 300 a few weeks back had the first 9 on Tuesday, then the other teams bowler is on the wrong lane. J not thinking gets up on the other lane throws a strike(ten in row). Oh no, wait a minute you guys bowled on the wrong lanes and have a redo. J is way pissed off and gets all agitated and ends up rushing his redo. Ends up with a 275.
I'd have been pissed too!!!!

Our anchor threw a 300 to lead off the night. I'm getting a more consistent release finally. I did have trouble picking up my 9's and 10's tonight, missed 4 in the second game alone. Third game was clean as I changed my right side spare line. Scores didn't show the improvement, but I felt it.

Raggety, I believe that was the mistake of your team. Because the rules state if 2 or more on the same team bowl on the wrong lane, the scores stand, and the lanes are changed when noticed. I believe if you look it up, that is correct. So, next time that happens, get your next bowler up immediately. I'll look it up too and post it.

Here it is.

Rule 9. In league or tournament play, a dead ball shall be called and the player or players required to rebowl on the correct lane when:
a. One player bowls on the wrong lane.
b. One player from each team on the pair of lanes bowls on the wrong lane.

*** If more than one player on the same team bowls on the wrong lane in turn, all deliveries stand as bowled.
Upon discovery, bowlers shall complete subsequent frames on the correct lanes.

Much better in last four weeks. Still not yet where i like it to be. Had too many missed makeable spares especially the 10 pins. Last week i could pick them up but could pick up the 6-10. This week i picked up 6-10 but not the 10 pin. Gotta work on that spare more in practice.

Shot a 186 - 212 - 182 for 580. Team wise lost first game by 55, Won Game 2 by 38, and lost game 3 by 66 pins. Lost total pins too. So just 2 pts tonight.

No Bowling next week since bowling night is on Thanksgiving.

Started out Thursday with a dismall 129..sheesh, but we won the game by 5 pins. My Sting was too strong for the conditions, and I just did not recover,( or change balls )in time. I salvaged the last two games with a 189, and a 215, after I swithced to a milder ball in my Saturn. We took two games and totals on our 1st position night of the year, winning the last game by over 200 pins. We had four opens as a team the whole game. Hopefully thats a good sign.

Interesting night. I had decided before I got there to hit my balls (Avalanche and Big One) with 4000 to knock the polish off, trying to get a more even reaction downlane. On my way out the door to the lanes, I set down my bag to lock the door, and heard a couple thuds. I hadn't zipped the top of the bag, and the Big One and Avalanche fell out onto my steps. Both got nice dings, not in the Track though. So they needed to be hit with the abralon pads anyway, which made the decision even easier. Took my newly surface-added balls back to the lanes, and... bone dry. I started out playing around 17 at the arrows with the Avalanche. By the end of the night, I was using a *lot* of speed over 4th arrow. I was high man on the pair with a 629, and it could have been a lot higher, if not for a couple bad shots and a couple bad breaks. I was the only one that could actually get in deep enough to handle the lanes - most of the rest of the bowlers were chucking it between 2nd and 3rd arrow and hoping for a Brooklyn. It felt good to be able to adjust to the conditions when no one else good, and bowl over my average.

Afterwards, we had the manager turn on the pair next to us. I had to make a 16 and 7 move right, and reduce my speed, to get lined up.

EDIT: Check out game 1 frame 6, and game 3 frame 8. Also, only missed 1 makeable spare (I don't call the washout makeable), which was nice. I have a lot of confidence in my spare game right now.

I'll let him know about that but it was in the tenth frame and he is our anchor so I think he would of been screwed either way.
I think it wouldn't of happened had I been there but he did bowl a nice 768 series so he can't complain too much. He also bowled on Sunday in a tourney at Hawthorne (first game 113) HAHAHA

Guess he found that infamous Hawthorn Oil. Surprised they still have it with the Brunswick takeover.

Those lanes can be challenging.

Yeah, he said his team series was like 520 then he figured it out in the doubles for a 657 on Sunday. He comes in to Lakes on Tuesday and guess what lanes are double oiled (turns out is the same line as Sunday) Shoots 768,we go 5-2(lost middle game by 1 pin).Good thing he bowling at Hawthorne on Sunday!!
